    Hello everyone,

What does everyone think of the audio, controls, navigation and all that? I have a✋Pixel phone (Android) and it appears that it's not really compatible with Toyota vehicles in general. Of course the salesman told me I can use Android Auto or Apple Car play, but I have no luck using my phone. Entune has horrible reviews, I can't even find a single positive review. I bought this truck for what it is, a truck LOL, so I'm not too concerned with all the tech stuff but if I can utilize any of the tech stuff, why not. Any input from anyone familiar with the Tacoma controls and all that would be appreciated.

What year is your truck? 2016-19 are just Bluetooth audio and hands free calling. 2020 trucks have CarPlay and other stuff.

I don't use them - never have. My phone sits in its mount, I connect over BlueTooth, and magic happens. Audible, MP3s, streaming music - all good.

You don't need that fancy infotainment stuff to enjoy stuff off your phone - just a really good mount.

I just use Bluetooth. Works great with calls, text and streaming music. Everything I need and want it to do.

I use Android Auto on my 2020 w/ a Pixel 2 XL, no issues. Spotify + Maps + Voice control. Only complaint is that it has to be connected via USB cable because it would be nice not to have to disconnect/reconnect every trip.

I have a 2020. Does the navigation appear on the screen? I wouldn't mind using a USB. I plugged in my USB and got nothing.

If you plug in the USB you should see your phone go into "Android Auto Mode", and then on the "Menu" section of the tacoma's screen you'll see an Icon for "Android Auto" that you can select. Once you do that you should get the map/spotify/whatever on the screen.

I have a 2019 and think the navigation SUCKS. If if worked similar to the way Garmins work that would help. Plus the fact my wife can con enter anything while I am driving down the road. F Toyota for a shitty design.

You may also need to download the Android auto app. I plugged into the USB with my Pixel4 and the Android nav worked. 2020 radio

That was it. I plugged in the phone when I bought the truck last week and nothing happened. This time it went just as you mentioned. I was in park and my phone screen said to apply the parking break. I pulled up on the emergency break 1 click and it worked suddenly. From there it was just following prompts. Thanks for your help.
