What do y'all use to get your sidewalls looking black again instead of brown? After using simple green and scrubbing with a hard nylon bristle brush plus dawn the tires dry brown instead of black. I even use a small pressure washer up close to blast the sidewalls.

Back in the day I used Westlies Bleach White. Well, nowadays they changed the formula and it does not work like it used to.

What's your go-to for getting those tires clean?

I buy this by the gallon and mix it 10:1 in a spray bottle.
The $25 gallon lasts for years, and the stuff works really good with a tire brush.
You can see the brown running off the tire as soon as you spray it on...

It's more of a mud staining than tire blooming. Thanks, though.

I will have to try this. Thanks.

Adams tire and rubber cleaner is unmatched. Nothing will make your tires look as good as that cleaner.

Would think any heavy duty degreaser would work just be cautious or aware of the rims. I’ve used purple power 4-5 applications but it wasn’t mud staining but probably blooming. I’d still be down for faster easier solutions

This works really well. Follow the instructions and maybe wear chemical gloves etc. Not kidding. It will irritate your skin pretty bad. I had small red splotches and a burning feeling on my skin. I used a nylon brush to scrub briefly while not allowing it to dry at all. Follow the label.

Thanks. I’d be searching the forum today and came across your same question. The dried mud and brown tire is not a good look.

Yeah, part of the brown look can be tire blooming which is even harder to get rid of than mud... having the right products and a nylon brush will get it black again. Finish up with tire shine like @C41n

High pressure self serve car wash with wheel degreaser works for me. I can get the rest of truck clean in driveway but need the carwash for tires.

I'll 2nd this cleaner. Then once the tire is dry I use Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel. I rub it on with a foam wax applicator pad then come back in 30 minutes and wipe the excess off with a microfiber towel. I only put 1 coat on so I don't have to shiny of a tire. My tires will look good for 6 weeks easy before I have to repeat the process.

    Same for tire gel.
Works great, last long and doesn’t fling off on fenders. I also let it sit overnight before I drive after applying.
