Put some olive oil and pork barrel rub on them, smoked with cherry then slapped some BBQ sauce on towards the end.

Did a tri tip tonight. 90 min smoke then seared each side. Rest for 10 and cut. Was awesome. Loving this damn smoker.

Well... Went from one extreme to the other... First attempt at my homemade Vortex resulted in temps of 200F.. and after dropping the charcoal bowl down about 6 inches.. well hello 500F!! Haha

Remember this is in my very first and very old Brinkman 3n1 and I'm just goofing off at this point because #boredom

A simple "rub" of Lawry's and black pepper and a chunk of apple wood for a little smokey!

A nice lunch after mowing the lawn .. pondering a nap now!

Found a short pork shoulder Boston butt. Won’t fit in the lower rack but it’ll fit the upper rack and I can put everything else below. Woooo! Does throw a wrench though for timing. Loins would have been about the same timeframe as everything else. Now....whoops.

Watched the BBQdoneright Cuban sandwich episode so I figured I'd give a go with chops since that's what I had. Turned out really good.

When I got home last night, the chicken and all the stuff needed for doing the goat cheese chicken was laying on the counter already. I'm not the best at picking up hints, but I think I figured this one out. Next time we want to add some jalapenos too.

So walking in, seeing that, and saying "I'm having a couple beers, let me know when you have it ready, I'm hungry." was probably not the proper response?

Looks good even though I’m not a goat cheese fan. Something in the flavor profile I’ve never been fond of.

I just got a pit boss pellet grill. Was using a masterbuilt smoker and a Weber propane grill before. I will never use propane again.

Here is a Tri-tip I did on the old Masterbuilt with a post sear on the Weber.20180704_165928.jpg
