Great story and yes you were very lucky. When I come across an idiot aggressive driver as hard it may be I don’t flip them off and I don’t yell and scream at them like I previously would do. There are too many psychos out there that will pull out a gun or come after you with a baseball bat. It’s not that I’m afraid. I grew up in a tough town, in a tough neighborhood, had more street fights than you can imagine, was a professional boxer, committed other acts of violence at the request of Uncle Sam. I still put on a pair of gloves and work out with a heavy punching bag a couple times a week. I’ve had people tail gate me and other things where I was so angry I was literally shaking with anger. But at 71 I know my limitations. Just too many crazies out there. I say all this because I want all of us over 60’s on this forum to be around for a long while and stay healthy. I am even ccw but hope to never use it. So all of you stay cool out there, know your limitations and try to avoid and ignore the psychos.
Btw I live in California and we seem to have an extraordinary abundance of psycho nut job drivers. I spent a week in Pa. in March 2020 around the Lancaster county area and the drivers there seemed far less aggressive and crazy than the California psychos. Maybe I was just lucky.

Raining to beat the crops this AM. Feels like winter in May. Ugg. WFH. Some special office sanitation day possibly for the return of all the slackers.

:pccoffee:  60's/wannabes/Susan. Anyone heard from @MQQSE recently? Maybe he's taking another digital break.

We've been doing a lot of yard work, moving dirt and rocks to smooth out the transitions from driveway to yard. Since the driveway was paved we've had a pretty sharp dropoff there, but it was winter and we didn't care. We got 8 yards of screened topsoil delivered and we're putting it where we need it. Now if the darn grass seed would just take root!

This weekend I think I'll take it a little easy, get some toys out, and enjoy myself some. Need to counteract the cabin fever! The local paper reported that people are having a hard time finding flags for veteran's graves; just one more thing these strange times have brought down on us.

Lancaster County is pretty calm road-warrior-wise. Still want to watch for the crazed truckers, they seem to be everywhere. If you want to see aggressive drivers in PA I highly recommend the southern end of Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, and the eastern end of the East-West PA Turnpike. I've never seen so many people so crazy about getting to a job they probably hate a few minutes sooner. Also, I-78 is infamous for its high concentration of loonybird truck drivers. Be careful on that one, people die out there pretty regularly.

I drive like the old man I am. After years of driving a service van in LA, then multi hour commutes in the Bay area - I cruise the 395 at 60. No hurry to go anywhere, nothing worth driving like a crazed loony for.

Have to say blood pressure and mental health benefits of living in the Eastern Sierras are priceless.

Well, it's an absolutely beautiful day in SoCal. Sunny and a slight breeze. Just the day to put the new mud flaps on my truck. But lo and behold, the second set that weathertech sent were also wrong. Oh well, the wheel wells are spotless. Now to find a company that sell a good quality flap that fits.

Well I got to experience one of life's little pleasures today. I got a haircut. I had to wear a mask, answer health questions, and wait in a virtual line for about three hours before I could get my cut. Feels great and as much as my wife wanted to cut my hair; I declined her offer

    Cheers

    Nice!

My wife cut my hair the other day, shaved my neck and back. OH MAN did that feel good. Still does.

Unrelated (I hope) starting my first ever batch of smoked cheese!

PSS My brother and an I are having a long distance battle of who bakes the best sourdough bread.

    Evening all:

    Smoked cheese IS GOOD!
A guy used to bring it into a local rod and gun club to sell, if I was there I would always buy some.

My son and I were going upcountry to work on the old house this weekend, but he left work early because he wasn't feeling to good :annoyed:. I hope it's nothing serious. I'll check on him later. Hopefully he'll be okay and we can head up tomorrow :fingerscrossed:. Hope everyone has a great weekend and hope the pool water is warm enough for a dip Mark (@Devious6 ) Enjoy.

Thanks Dave. My son called me a bit ago and said he is feeling a lot better:thumbsup:. We are heading up tomorrow morning for 3 days of work, fun and hopefully nice weather :D. A little target shooting is in order.
On another note, I received a VISA Debit card in the mail today. I spent some time reading different sites about the card. Instead of sending out a stimulus check, they are sending out these VISA Debit cards to some folks. I thought it might be a scam but I checked it out and it is for real. According to their site if you didn't have bank account and routing number on your 2018 or 2019 income tax for direct deposit you will receive a card, otherwise your money will be deposited to your account. This is worth a :woot::woot::cheers:.
Be safe and be well and enjoy the weekend folks.

    Evening all:
Glad to hear that your son is feeling better Ken.
A couple days ago I received the stimulus check in the mail, I don't think I have ever got a direct deposit from the IRS, I either leave the refund in there as part of quarterly's or request a refund check, supposedly they went by SS direct deposit for those on SS if the IRS didn't have the bank info. on record.
I had read where they were going to send out Debit Cards also instead of the checks, there must be a reason for that.
