Yeah, they are pricey! I think I saw they were running a 20% off sale right now though

Even at 20% off it's still over $400 after shipping. At that price it's gonna stay on the "nice to have" list rather than the "gotta have" list.

Got out to a lake somewhat nearby and got into a few fish yesterday, although conditions weren't ideal with water temp, clarity and quite a bit of wind. Nothing big, but still fun to get out for a boat day.

Have you tried a snowboard/ski rack? I've seen folks use the clamp style for their spinning rods.

If you're talking about what I think you are, that would leave the rods exposed to low tree branches.

true, I didn't catch the part about the tree branches, never really worried about that personally.

turn the rods backwards and there isn't really a problem. Otherwise, something like Yakima skybox 12 or rocketbox pro 11 is probably the best bet.

Got out last weekend on a private Lake via guided tour. Probably landed at least 12 fish between 16 and 24 in. Great experience for somebody like me who is just getting back into the sport.20200516_135256.jpg

Got some new 'mods' for the truck and have been hitting the water. A Trxstle rod carrier and a Flycraft Stealth that fits in the bed. And a couple of esox.20200505_211637.jpg 20200519_163621.jpg

Man, I've been eyeing those flycrafts for a while now. That's the 12 1/2 footer, right? And, can't tell, is your taco a LB or SB?

The raft is 12.5'. The truck is a short bed and thats why it fits with the cap on the truck. The raft's oar locks won't fit under the cap (too wide) so it won't slide all the way in a long bed. Unless maybe backwards? I should measure it. But there's a lot hanging out and I have a bed extender coming to support the raft that's hanging out. I can easily slide it back there myself. It could also go on the full length Prinsu roof rack but not sure I could do that by myself after a hard day on the water and I'm not getting any younger lol. And putting it on the roof would require me to remove the Trxstle and the awning but I would have my bed back.

If the raft is totally broken down, how long does it take you to setup? I've seen a few of the videos that say it's only about 15 minutes. True?

I just got it so haven't disassembled it yet and I can only speculate. It probably depends on the level of disassembly. If the frame is just removed and raft is deflated, then certainly 15 minutes is possible. But if you break the frame completely down, then probably not unless you have 2 guys that know what they're doing.

Booked our next Arkansas trip. Well, re-booked. We were packed and ready to go...the the Rona happened and we cancelled the day before we left. Heading to the white River July 29. Can’t freakin wait.

Ok, I went deep down the fly fishing boat rabbit hole over the last few weeks.

At first I was pretty committed to the Flycraft 3-man because it's self bailing and rated for class III. Unfortunately, there are basically no reviews for the 3 man in heavy water that I can find. The Flycraft Stealth was only rated for class II, so that was a no go for Colorado.

Has anyone rowed or floated both a traditional full-size raft and a Stealthcraft/Flycraft setup? I'd love to not have to rely on a trailer, but ultimately I'm not sure the Flycraft can handle big water as reliably. Opinions?
