Most dealerships won't disable it for you, but you may find one that is willing to make the computer remember your selection for turning the radar off so you don't have to do it every time. My dealer refused to fix the recall due to me having "oversize tires." They are 265/75/16s lol. not monster truck tires

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Please don’t do that to me. It causes me to see a dog run across the street and I have to brake hard to avoid hitting it. Luckily the dog was saved by my actions, ran off and your insurance buys me a new truck.

Do you realize that you can set the distance of the radar follow?

NOPE. It does NOT disable the radar at all. Holding the button in just enables one to then utilize classic cruise control. The push button is a two option device utilizing a quick push for adaptive cruise control [radar] and holding it down for a few seconds in order to utilize function 2 which is classic cruise control. The poster's initial question is a valid one, and one that I would hope, there was an answer to, because like him, there are many of us out here who would LOVE for the push button to have the option to be changed as a default to whatever the user wants the default to be. I would love to switch it so the default for me, is the classic cruise control. Although it doesn't seem like a big deal, there have been many times when I held the button down for what I thought was enough seconds to enable classic cruise control, only to find when the stupid thing hits the brakes for NO REASON, that i had enabled adaptive cruise control instead of classic cruise control! I totally HATE adaptive cruise control! If I used that all the time like I do classic cruise control, the dang truck would wear out my brakes WAY prematurely!

See, now this is interesting, in that I NEVER turn on the ECT button because I want the best gas mileage I can get. The manual clearly states that utilizing the ECT button is for those who want more "power", meaning that the transmission will rev higher before it shifts between gears.

then, you did it wrong. hold the cruise button while watching the dash. you can see the dash notify you, if you are in adaptive, or standard cruise mode. if it doesnt go to the right one, repeat. push once for adaptive, push and hold until the adaptive notification goes to standard, for standard cruise. if you have the TSS, you can go into the functions on the dash display via the steering wheel controls, and turn it off. i can and did on my 2019 sport. Wish I knew you could switch to regular cruise control long ago. Most of the time I like the radar but it can be very annoying in anything more than moderate highway traffic. It doesn’t get very close to the next car and I find it slams on the brakes. Also in the winter while driving in wet snow or freezing rain the radar stop working on me and then it won’t let me put cruise on which has been frustrating.

uh, the last thing you want to be doing is driving with the cruise engaged, while it is snowing, freezing rain, or wet and below 32* Fahrenheit. wheels spin up, you jam on the brakes to stop the spin... and you are just along for the ride. one thing to think about, it doesnt matter if you are going 1mph, or 100mph, you lose control of your auto, your insurance and the police will treat it as a chargeable loss, too fast for conditions. your results may vary. It can be snowing without the road being ice covered.maybe they don’t salt the crap out of the roads where you are but they do here. I run studs and I drive about 70,000 Kms a year in all types of weather I’ve never even come close to having a problem. To each their own.

I realize I have no need for any radar whatsoever. if I get a Arleigh_Burke-class destroyer, different story.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
I vary my speeds when someone is using radar cruise behind me. Usually have to slow down about 5mph to get people to go around and hang on someone else's tail.

I wish I had radar cruise control. In fact, I'd pay to add it.

I know all that regarding how to push the button and what happens. The problem is in the real world, as one is driving down the highway, and doesn't want to take one's eyes off the road to look at the display while they are holding down the button. While it is only a few seconds, as anyone knows, the vehicle can move a long way down the highway in those few seconds. So I push the button, thinking I have held it down long enough, and most of the time I have, but every once in a while I push it in, holding it for the same seemingly few seconds, and then find out that in fact, I did not enable the classic cruise control, but the adaptive cruise control. Now, when you are referring to the TSS, I am assuming you are referring to the PCS OFF function. And sure, you can turn that off in the settings, but it doesn't STAY off, although I am not 100% certain about that. But what I AM certain of, is that when you turn that off, then you are almost BLINDED by the PCS OFF light in your dashboard that shines right there in your eyes! Really annoying! Now, I don't mind the PCS system itself, as that is a nice safety feature, but I absolutely HATE the adaptive cruise control system, and from what I have read here, I am not the only one, although I admit that there are others here who love it. Just one of those personal opinions. It is obvious to me though from these opinions, that that alone, is good reason to have it changeable by the owner, as to which is the default. Nothing wrong with that!

nothing yet, just tacked on the all weathertech mats and using the free factory cover on the back of it
I only like it on long highway runs at a relatively constant speed. I don't like how it brakes hard and surges forward in normal driving.

you are holding the button too long. and i see you have a 19 sport, as i do as well... i have my TSS/PCS selected to off permanently, and no warning light on my dash. it does not reset, when you turn the truck off/on. Ski

Radar or Adaptive Cruise took a little getting use to and now I've adapted to it I have no problem with it and don't mind using it. I just set the distance warning to minimum.

Can you turn the seatbelt warning chime off with tech stream? Don't mind the light but the chime can be annoying
