No way Jose. I've seen two separate people knock themselves out of alignment since the big nut up top slipped loose. Though now I can just adjust that myself....

I'm going to take some measurements but I think I'll be able to fit this case in the bed standing up and strapped down to hold recovery gear, since I lost those bedside cubbies. upload_2020-5-21_12-59-2.jpg

Case could go on top. You could be the POOP commander again.

I returned mine yesterday. Carried them in, went to a cashier and they gave me a gift card for the value. Was $42 and change for a pair of 6 tons.

Too bad the tire can't sit on top of the wheel well with a bracket attached to the top of the bed rail, up and over, down to the bed. Almost like a cage. Then you'd have the whole bed for whatever storage you wanted. I found some white watertight "Navy" storage containers last night for $40 each.

Edit! Cut the top of the wheel well out to match the radius of the tire so it sits lower. No way do your tires stuff all the way up that high! Bam!

There are many more space efficient ways I could store this tire. I just think this way looks cool

    Intex 36" Inflatable Giant Tire...
Just keep this in your glove box until needed. Just inflate until it matches the diameter of the other tires.
    BOOM! problem solved.
    You're welcome.

Rolling one won't fit but this one should. I should be able to fit my most commonly used recovery gear in here, aka snatch strap, tree saver, all my shackles and a snatch block. Then in the event of a recovery, just grab this and I'll be covered with what I need most of the time.

Is the 5-0 gonna stop you for not having mud flaps?

Doubtful. I have never had mudflaps on this in my 3 years of ownership. And I've been rocking the high clearance for 2 of those years without trouble. I don't even know if it's a law here.

Just looked it up, VA only requires mud flaps on commercial vehicles 40,000lbs GVWR and higher.

Reminder for any REI members. Their annual 20% off any item for members expires on Monday. I just used it and my dividend from last year to get a new camp chair.

Samesies. Got one of those Helikon chairs so it can fit behind the seat. Had a lot of impromptu post-MTB beers sitting on the asphalt cuz I didnt have a chair to hang with my buds.
