Your instructions on tapping the dash light circuit is one of the earliest chapters in my personal book on Tacoma mods. It may seem like a small thing but all those small things each add to my enjoyment of personalizing my truck and represents a key element in many of them
    Thanks

definitely a solid option! I think i'm leaning towards just buying one of the OEM Black versions since i wanted to do that entire section, and it's not all flat so wrapping would be near impossible and i don't trust my painting skills lol

True!! I considered buying a black one too. The wrap turned out good enough for me. I can't spend too much on my interior because it gets pretty dusty and dirty at work, I do an interior clean just about every week lol

Got the closed cell foam installed on top of the butyl sound-deadening material today. Cool thing is that 3 of these pieces fit perfectly between the plastic on each side.

So I let the decals cure, gave it a nice wash. Came home today and put a coat of Blackfire Paint Sealant on it. I did the whole truck in one step and waited for the whole truck to haze. Waited 20 more minutes then buffed it off. Looks amazing I think.

Finished Clay Bar on entire truck (hit hood, windshield and roof 2X) and treated the exterior lighting with Mequire's PlastX. Hopefully the pollen is minimal this weekend for waxing.

Very easy, just time consuming. It is counter intuitive but you don't want to smoosh the clay into the paint with force. Just let it glide over the paint multiple times until it glides smoothly.

Okay everyone here is a more detailed build on the GRID IT Center console storage organizer.

    Cocoon CPG5BL GRID-IT! Accessory Organizer - Small 10.25" x 5.125"

3M Genuine 1/2" (12mm) x 15 Ft VHB Double Sided Foam Adhesive Tape 5952 Grey Automotive Mounting Very High Bond Strong Industrial Grade

Note: From 3M 50% strength of bond in 20 minutes, 90% strength of bond in 24 hours and 100% strength of bond after 72 hours

For maximum bond strength, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Typical cleaning solvents are heptane or isopropyl alcohol. Carefully read and follow manufacturer’s precautions and directions for use when using cleaning solvents. This adhesive tape is NOT like normal adhesive tape that you can feel the adhesiveness when you use it. This tape need time and pressure to get into its adhesiveness. You have to press hard to one surface, than take out the red protective plastic and press the other surface part onto the Dark Grey part of the tape and leave that for 3 days to have the full bond strength.

Step 1: Use a phillips-head screwdriver and take out the 5 screws to remove the trim piece that is attached to the top portion of the center console lid.

    IMG_2668.jpg

Here is a picture of the back of the trim piece on the center console for those of you who are interested as to what it looks like on here.

    IMG_2669.jpg

Step 2: You must cut out a small portion on the GRID-IT to allow the hinge to not interfere with it. I used a grinder which worked really well since its overkill on plastic lol. There is a tough piece of plastic in the center so cutting it with a knife isn't really possible. But do what you want to remove material.

Also, on the back of this there is a zipper pocket which i cut out, you can see my cut marks on the picture with the 3M backing on it.

    IMG_2670.jpg

Step 3: You can use 3M velcro or an adhesive to attach the grid it. The reason I took out the plastic piece instead of just putting this on in the truck is because I wanted to step on it and make sure I got a good stick to the trim that attaches to the lid.

I am letting it sit for a couple days before I start putting items on it so it doesn't fall off prematurely. If it does fall off, I will use self tapping screws to secure it instead since I can do it safely without punching a hole through the center console arm rest as you can see from the pictures.

50% strength of bond in 20 minutes, 90% strength of bond in 24 hours and 100% strength of bond after 72 hours

    IMG_2671.jpg

    IMG_2672.jpg
For those of you standing on it like me, I put a piece of cardboard over it to keep it clean instead of the dirt on my shoes getting on there.

    IMG_2673.jpg

Step 4: Re-install the screws into the center console and that should be it. Like i said before, I would wait before putting things in there since the adhesive has not had time to settle 50% strength of bond in 20 minutes, 90% strength of bond in 24 hours and 100% strength of bond after 72 hours
