    Hey guys,

I know a lot of us on here use these brand of jack stands as they are cheap and effective. There has been a recent recall and I just wanted to get the word out, to keep people safe.

I have linked an article that explains the affected units and how to swap them.

    Stay safe folks!

I don't use Harbor Freight jack stands. I use 6 ton jack stands made by AC Delco and some 3 ton stands made by Craftsman.

Crap, my apologies. I thought I recalled seeing one in the videos. Modified original post to remove the incorrect info.

No worries. I do own lots of Harbor Freight tools, just not their jack stands.

I have a couple of those. I do not, however, use them to hold up the truck. At most, I use them to hold up the rear axle.

Pretty shitty that they give you a gift card when you return them. I want to get my money back so I can go buy some actually not crappy jack stands. I have some Pro-Lift jackstands that are well built. I looked at the difference between the build quality of the two and went "nope, not using these Harbor Freight ones for anything important"

I've had a set of those T-6906s for almost 10 years if not more - they are great and very sturdy. No idea where I got them from, they are black and red. The grey ones seem built the same as mine. I'll probably just get a pair of the Pro-Lifts and find some other crap to buy at Harbor Freight.. I'm sure I'll find something lol

My harbor freight jack stands are on the recall.

I’d love to get my money back Instead of a gift card and put that toward a set made by https://www.usjack.com/

They’re $152 but they’re made in the USA and a solid jack stand.

Yeah something besides a gift card would be nice. I can see why they would do that though. I actually haven't looked at mine yet cause I am not using them ATM.

There are some tools that it just doesn't pay to go cheap on. Anyone ever see what happens to the human body when a car falls on it?

I've been using my 6 ton hf jack stands for years with no issues, including holding up my Duramax and my 5th wheel rv for suspension work. Mine are not on the recall list and I'm not worried about them. They had a flaw in the castings during a manufacturing run, happens all the time to just about any manufacturer not just harbor freight.

Went and returned a pair of 3 ton and a pair of 6 ton today. No issue.
They were out of replacement jack stands and only had 2 physical gift cards left. I got $65 and change on it. Easy peasy.

I have 4 of the six ton models. Two are 61197, two aren't. I honestly can't tell the difference. Been using them for years. I'm going to try and make them take all 4 back.
