I had a Gibson SG Purple Hawaiian with gold hardware...thing was a thing of beauty. Then the guitar tech broke the headstock off

Idk man. I'd have to spend a good amount of time with one in my hand before I let go of that much money for a guitar.

Actually, after thinking about it...i don't deserve or even play enough to have a $3200 Guitar sitting around.

If I won a couple hundo in the lotto? for sure.

Im same, i topped out at 1500...for a couple, and I suck lol

So...for the peeps paying attention (who are YOU and why would you) I've regenerated the hobby and been pulling guitars out of 'storage". My Ovation is in excellent shape and is as consistent as ever. So I yanked (off a wall hanger) my 99ish Seagul S6+CW...needs some major help. Top cracked where it meets the neck, seems there is a 2 pc truss rod thingy that the small end of the neck bracket let go...some of the braces under the top the neck have delaminated. Spinal. Guitar means alot to me, so I look to source a local luthier...this cat is local, and I can get a "referral ", which is good...

    https://www.google.com/search?q=kwasnycia guitars

Wow...Base any model 5,500. Add-ons get up to 8-9 easy. Nice guitars. I'm not worthy...

But if I can get him to fix mine...might be smiley time

Yeah I'll probably just get another dnky

    And I like the gold.
Just stuck on this blue phase for some reason.

Was wondering if it was actually worth it compared to what else a guy could pick up for that much coin.

What makes a guitar worth 5 large? I really can’t imagine the wood used is THAT expensive. I feel like after a certain Level there has to be some sort of diminishing return. I understand the time it takes to build one and the attention to detail, but 5k for a few pounds of wood and some hardware for it seems outrageous. Especially for anyone who isn’t making their sole income off that instrument.

I like to think I can tell the difference between a 200 dollar guitar and a 1500 dollar guitar. I'm certain there are peeps than can discern a 10k guitar...cuz they sell. I cannot

Id say quality playability tone sound feel recordability etc etc but a guy like me wouldnt care enough about the nuances of why another guy would paw an old flying v when he could have anything handed to him.

    I guess....maaco vs custom
For a dd I wouldnt care
    For a show car, definately.

As I start to play more and watch more videos on stuff, I feel like I could probably tell the difference now between them visually. But again, I just don’t see how a 5k guitar is that much better than say a 1k. I don’t think I’ll ever get to that level of playing either to fully understand it. It just seems like you can only do so much with a guitar in terms of building it that once you hit a certain point, that diminishing return drops real fast. For instance: both of my epiphones. 300 something for them both compared to their Gibson counterparts at 3k. Granted, I haven’t seen one in person or played one, but I feel like even that jump is just crazy and I wouldn’t really be able to tell the difference if I were given both an epi and Gibson hummingbird unbranded

This is what I'm hoping...been down that road, wanna hop back on but don't wanna do expensive project if the absence repeats. So now looking for 5-7 hundy electric. Shortlist now down to Godin entry level, Ibanez and surprisingly a Kramer arch top. We'll see what transpires
