That little chrome ring will come out. If you flip the whole thing over, you'll see a few little places where it looks like plastic melted through a little hole.......yea, those are places where some plastic melted through a little hole :) . Just cut those off or remelt them care-ful-lyyyyyy and the thin chrome thing will come out towards the bottom of the shifter cover. Wrap it, paint it, whatever then put a drop or 2 of super glue back in through the little holes. It'll stay. It's not like you're riding around trying to take that little piece out.

    Peace out :)

Picked up an Apache 4800 case from harbor freight today to hold my primary recovery gear. This will cover 95% of my recoveries and all in one easily accessible bin. Very happy with it, especially for only $45.

I thought about removing that piece but like how it looks wrapped in gunmetal with the other colors I've got in the interior.

Lol no not quite, I used that on other things. This would have been a good purchase though. I was at harbor freight today to grab this and an employee had a shopping cart full of used stands.

    Nice write up.
Instead of screws, why not rivets? You could move one of those bands out of the way to hide a rivet under.:notsure:

Being more than a little suspicious about Harbor Freight tool quality, I'm wondering what "6ton death traps" are? Stands? Jack?

Yeah I saw a video about. It's kinda a lot to do for such a small trim piece but we go to any length to remove chrome! Lol

    Still in planning phase ...
Been busy with my house, but finally had some time and warm weather to get some things done. Added Relentless Fab Tailgate Reinforcement and Corner Tie Downs, Voodoo Steel Bed Caps, and my Softopper. Got all the steel hardware used for $125 and Softopper for $150, plus another $140 for replacement parts for Softopper. Made off pretty well with these add ons.

Last pic, before and after. Next up, Cali Raised LED Bed Stiffeners and my bed extender.
