Gotta say.. I'm happy to have changed this out to a Hex style.

Rear diff oil change.. No issue. Transfer case.. No issue. Front Diff? Man that thing is tight!! I probably could have re used that old drain bolt but man, having a 12mm Allen socket as the drain plug sucks. A little research and I was able to drop down to Lexus dealership 20 min away and pick up this one thanks to some members here and other online forums. If you do end up doing the job down the road.. I recommend getting one with the crush washer and just swapping it out. P/N: 90341-24016. (sorry if this has been preached to death)

Is this the catheter the dealer inserts after they bend you over in "service position".

 

it's the 'special tool' used to drain the oil filter housing so you can do an oil change without shitting 1 liter of oil all over your engine.

The dealer doesn't use a special tool when they bend you over, and lube is extra.

 

Yep! I had a '16 Golf-R... with the 2.0T, it was a canister filter.

I had to buy this to change the Haldex fluid: https://www.shopdap.com/catalog/pro...suction-fill-pump-wkz-498-001/category/38019/ (But this was useful for changing diff and t-case fluids).

But, I wouldn't mind having another Golf-R, it was a fun little car. I hurt a lot of American V8's feelings on the highways, with just an APR Stage 1 ECU & DSG tune.
