Why no pictures allowed?!

 

In industrial facilities like refineries, chemical plants, tank farms, etc, cameras (including the phone cameras) are verboten. Generally, cameras themselves are not intrinsically safe, and the facility owners want to protect the confidentiality of their proprietary and security-related information. If pictures are to be taken, a special permit has to be issues to authorize a camera to be used. It's always a standalone camera and never a camera phone. Again, confidentiality and information security.
