wondering if the cold start issues are related to the bad fuel pumps, and the recall for them? appears some have this start problem, and some dont. Ski

 

Previous beta gave me the rough cold start. This newer one, i think mat took it down already, I dont get them anymore.

 

Nope. I'm not on the recall list and the issue was after the flash. Highly unlikely

 

mine did yesterday. Sounded like it was running on 5 cylinders for about 30seconds then it smoothed out.

 

I Have 100 miles on mine 04B04+2.0+Base+93 Runs Great.. Never had cold start issues. mileages is up from 21 to 24. I'm happy the way it Preforms now. The way it should of allllllways been...

 

What originally sparked this startup "issue" I believe was a hesitation or weird start while *cranking*. The weird idle for 30s after startup is normal. The stock tune does this.

 

I’ve had my truck 4.5 years and 95k miles, it’s never idled as rough as it did yesterday. I’m going to flash back to 1.05, until the next test tunes are released.

Right after flashing? That’s not unusual, especially if you did resets.

if it doesn’t smooth out, that’s a problem.

 

I’ve got approximately 60mi on the newest test tune. I’ve had to startup hesitation the last two test tunes, but haven’t had any idle problems until yesterday. I’ll try it again later today and see if it does it again.

 

04B30 deleted the learn values etc. uploaded 2.0 beta 87.... anyone notice the shifting is quite laggy? It wasn’t like that on my 1.05

 

Laggy as in RPMs too high, or laggy between gears? Higher shift points were "requested" because a large number of people did not like how quickly the truck got into the higher gears.

Also, definitely get some miles on it before evaluating. It will change in the first 500-1000 miles.

Stock tune roars to life immediately and idles just fine. The Tacoma ECU is like a giant ball of yarn. Loosen one thread; another gets too tight.

 

Of course now I can't find the post, but I'm pretty sure Mat said that there are no startup specific tables, the truck uses all existing tables for startup. So, it sounds to me like he can only fix startup issues by tweaking the entire tune... Or I could have been hallucinating.

 

Youve done this already? Or are planning to?
