Finally got around to putting the hood decal on. Very pleased with the looks, nice to break up the color on the hood a little bit. I ended up getting the extra wide with cutouts and the extra 3 inches in the rear to go down the lip. Being my first vinyl, it took me around 2 hours to get the thing on and all the bubbles out - granted most of the time (~75%) was spend on that back lip and wrapping around the back edge to go under the hood.

*Decal is a little dirty because rain*

I'll be attempting the exact same install when my hood wrap arrives in a few weeks. Glad to see you did it yourself. Will be the first attempt at a wrap for me.

Awesome to hear man! I really didn't know what I was walking into doing it myself but figured may as well give it a whirl. I ended up buying that plastic felt squeegee and RapidTac that were mentioned on this thread, I don't have a baseline but they seemed to work really well for me. I'm sure the bottle of RapidTac will last me for the rest of my life though...

    Stawk as FUCK!
That would look good! Would also prevent glare off the hood while driving.

Looks awesome man! That RapidTac is key, makes the whole process far more forgiving.

What brand is the vinyl wrap?

been calling shops for months to get it installed and so many have flat out refused because the brand is not visible on the vinyl.

my decal has been in the garage for 11 months now. Is it possibly damaged?

Not sure on the brand, seems like nice high quality though. I had on my first Tacoma since the beginning of this thread with ZERO issues and installed myself. You definitely don't need shop to do it. Just clean your hood, buy some RapidTAC and take your time.

*Also - don't try to install it on a when it's hot out and trucks been in direct sun. Just my .02.

I don’t have the steady hand to do this. I have painted objects and applied plenty of stickers and decals in my life. My finished work always looks terrible
