I think the resisting arrest came from running from the officer and then kicking him and spitting on him.

The officer said she's been driving like that for 6 months.

Had she already received a warning about it?

    If so, case closed.

She refused to sign the ticket, and that prompted the first arrest attempt. Then she fled. THEN she kicked and spat. THEN she refused to follow instructions.

She's an entitled idiot who deserved everything she got.
    - Didn't fix the back end of that POS Chevy knowing it was twisted
    - Didn't even attempt to simply return the tail lights to some semblance of functional
    - Drove around like that for 6 months
    - Became belligerent with the police officer when confronted about it

    Yeah.
That was awesome, other than the fact that my mom is from that area.

    Yeah.
Thankfully she hasn't lived there in a very long time, but I spent a lot of time there at my grandparents' as a kid. It is not a cool place, and this kind of behavior doesn't really surprise me. Probably the most excitement they have had in a while.

Grandparents had a neighbor that I swear impregnated his sister, then later impregnated the offspring of that union. We wouldn't go near that place -- got too close once and were chased off with a shotgun.

You sure it wasn't on Maury?

"Tests show you are NOT the father! Your sister has banged everybody and we'll have to keep looking"

When the sister was asked who else the father might be she replied, "Well, when you eat a whole can of beans you're never sure which one made you fart."

    Yeah.
That's not far off from the Suthers. The only person to leave the property was the father, although you would occasionally see the daughter outside in the small fenced-in area around the house, and nobody ever visited. She was "slow" and very odd-looking, although not what I would consider deformed. Then one summer when she was probably about 15, we saw her outside and she was quite pregnant. Only man around was the father. Here's the house now, fenced-in area is gone.

No shit! I was going to pass through there on my way to Colorado last year for nostalgia reasons, looked it up on Google maps and saw they had a street view. Decided NOPE, I am fine skipping that.

I'm going to attempt my opinion while flirting with the CoC here.

I'm curious why there aren't advocacy groups & demonstrations about this? Why are some accused criminals in this same situation seemingly exempt from the same treatment this woman received? Every day online I see videos of people fleeing, resisting arrest, being belligerent with responding officers and yet their use of non-deadly force is met with petitions for resignation, threats to their families, and a general stigma of "excessive force". And yet here's a horse of a different color being treated the same, but somehow the audience/society feels it's justified and decides not to raise hell over it. It's this double standard that truly pisses me off. By and large I see police responding mostly uniformly, sure there are some outliers, but the median treatment is the same. But society's opinion of said treatment sways so vastly from case to case that it boggles my mind. If you're against "excessive force" then what does it matter who the accused is?

The difference is the people in THIS thread would probably respond the same to about any similar situation. As a whole, people have become weak and takes zero responsibility for their own actions. That is why the majority here are ok with this video and likely many many others.

There is no clear definition of excessive force. I have no problem with what the officer did. He didn’t use any serious force until she kicked him and spit on him when he tried to put her under arrest. It’s quite simple, comply with lawful commands and deal with it later. Arguing is not going to solve anything at the time of arrest.

You can apply this to any horse, of any color. If you react excessively, and fail to comply, you get force, excessive or not.

If this horse was a different color, i bet there would be people calling for action.
