Yeah, I worked in a bike shop throughout high school and college so I can at least pack the bike safely assuming I can get my hands on some packing supplied. Plus ~$100 shipping isn't too bad.

Fair, I didnt have a bike box or the time to pack it so my shop did it for me, so I had to pay extra for that but it all worked out pretty well in the end.

Happy to provide a finders fee. The key is definitely DIY packing and www.shipbikes.com (cheaper than Bike Flights). If you think you can scrounge up some stellar deals I am happy to discuss. Many sellers don't want to hassle with shipping but since you are experienced I could buy it, you pickup, you pack/ship.

This goes for anybody reading this. I am always buying good deals. Finders fee available

Thinking about selling my Mojo3 for a bit of a markup right now in order to cover a new bike. Problem is that I need the Mojo for my upcoming trip across the country and probably couldn't replace it in time.

Thanks for the tip on shipbikes.com
I've historically used bikeflights exclusively, but I've found their rates for smaller parts to be pretty high. Its most always cheaper to just use a USPS flat rate box.

Whatcha looking for? Size, wheel size, budget, travel amount?

I'm bored at work, on a Friday before a holiday weekend, when 1/4 of the staff is supposed to be here and over half of them took off.

Ha! My bike budget is so low with wedding savings that I had to look up what Kashima Coating is, so definitely not

Well I swung by the shop and still no bike. But my upgrade to carbon plan is still on hold because my bike is supposedly in shipping right now. Somehow other shops keep getting it enroute or something like that. So now it should be here Tuesday. But we shall see.

My brother had an NBD today, pretty excited to start going on rides with him even if it’s only road/gravel. Too bad it’s supposed to rain tomorrow haha

and yes for some reason the bike shop is next to an urgent care

You meant to say conveniently located next to. They know where the business is good. And the trails are slam packed right now. It’s a little ridiculous.

Those are both good points haha. I was waiting in the truck while my brother was waiting for the bike and there were like 10 groups of people waiting for purchases. I think I saw 5 or 6 new bikes roll out of there in about an hour.

Nice ride today showing a buddy around a local area. Hero dirt! Doesn’t look it here but this is one of the bigger local downhills. About 1400’ descent in 4ish miles. Mostly rolling hill forested stuff nearby so it’s a good change up.

My LBS is a very small trek dealer. And he is having a really hard time getting any new bikes in right now. (Especially mine :annoyed:) He is having a hard time. Even turning a ton of customers away due to no inventory. Really sucks to see.

    not enough.
yeah, I've seen my LBS turn away tons of people because no one has anything in stock. Heard of a small shop a few hours south of me that sold 100 bikes in one day (as in they still had to order a whole bunch). :/ It's crazy.

Yeah that’s wild. It seems that shops near me are doing okay stock wise, the main issue is repairs. I know a shop down the street from my place in Virginia stayed up til 1am with a full crew working to catch up. The shop my brother got his bike from is in MA and he actually got it earlier than expected. They are just swamped, I don’t think employees signed up for this when they got these jobs. Hopefully stock starts coming back soon.

before I got my warbird I did see that trek already released the 2021 checkpoint alr on their site some I’m wondering if they did that because they already ran out of 2020s

Ass kicker today, at least for me. Haven’t ridden this trail in a while and remembered why. Huge climb, all rock garden decent until the end where you can get a bit of flow. Rock gardens are fun, but after climbing 1,758 vertical ft. in 5 miles (1,100 in about a 1 mile section) through one and then descending about 5 miles through one, I was over it. Can’t a guy just get some flow around here? Any way enjoy the pics.
