are these the first release or the revision to the first release? IMO the first release was better than the revision. The revision had changes related to DI PI and VVT resultant of "issues." Both were released on the same day and had the exact file terminology. ??

It is alarmist for the same reason you are trying to call me out on. Do you know that it is harmful? I choose to trust the tuner. If you don't that's fine, flash a different tune and wait for the fix. My understanding is that it has to do with PI/DI, but I'm not a tuner and don't know a damn thing about this ECM. Hence I defer to the person that sent me the files..

On your second point I have no idea what you are asking for. The startup "issue" is not AT specific.

Because it’s supposed to reduce the likelihood of a limp mode condition according to the TSB

I had not read of any MT tunes having the startup issue. What release to 04B13 had the startup issue?

Sounds like you have the obd connector and micro usb cord _ the connector (orange) plugs into the truck obd connector and the micro usb cord connects the obd connector to the computer. Right? if so you don't have to do anything except wait until Mat release 2.0 final for your ecu.

There's no change log from Toyota. We don't know what really changed other than the one guy that has it and said that it feels really good.

Given that each ECU needs unlocked in vF, it just makes the most sense to be on the latest.

We don't know exactly what the differences between 04B03 and 04B04 are, but we know that 04B04 is better.

If I wasn't so damn happy with 2.0, I'd give 04B14 Stock a shot just to know.

I have said it several times here and/or the MT thread that the 04B13 base SFOB tune has intermittent odd behavior on cranking and first fire. Several others have confirmed.

It doesn't knock, smoke, throw codes or generally "feel" bad. It takes longer and sounds a bit like a poorly tuned asthmatic Chevy, but it always starts.

The orange adapter that you plug into the port on your truck with a cable to flash is not a dongle, the dongles were a software key stored on a USB stick that you plugged into your computer to authorize the program to work.

Good to know, I had not read that. Easy to miss in here. What version did it start do show up on the MTs?
I am sure Matt will figure it out and fix it for all of us. I will change back to earlier beta once I have 200 mile on it. There is something wrong with this tune and wont continue to run a tune that has this kind of startup issue. If it was improving that would be one thing but it is not. It is actually taking longer to start. If you shut it off and restart within 15 minutes or less it doesn't do it.

I cant say for sure which tune I was on when I noticed it. I was on one of the 2.0 test tunes for quite a long time (loved it) and I think it was present there.

Just got told over the phone by the dealership today that there's a recall on my vehicle, but they don't have a fix for it :bananadead:

If it's just a ECM update, do it yourself...

@OVTune any updated ETA for those of us still waiting on P5FLASH registration after mailing in our license dongles last month?
    Thank you.

I forget what she called it, but it was the stall out or limp or whatever at high speed, she said they don't have a fix for it yet. Being not terribly vehicle savvy, I just found it funny that they'd tell me that there's a recall about a potentially dangerous condition, but that they don't have a fix lol The stupid thing hasn't killed me yet, so I'm not worried for now.

@OVTune will the speed limiter be removed or set higher for the 34-36 5.29 2.0F tune? Or will we be able to adjust it in vF ourselves?

It’s probably the fuel pump recall they still don’t have a fix for

    Definitely the case.

    Tacoma driver:

And if the vehicle shuts down and goes into limp mode at highway speeds??

    Toyota corporate:

You might die, but it’s cool, we sent this recall notice letting you know that we know.

    And also, operating as designed.
