Looking for opinions on the DD Sport vs Pro yellow lights. Been eyeing them for some time now and wanted to see how to Sport perform vs the Pro. I understand that there is a very in-depth post already and I've read through it to understand enough to ask this question.

Will the Pro fog lights overpower the factory headlights too much to where it's annoying?
Am i better off with the sport version for a nice even balance between the fog lights and the headlights?

    Thoughts? Opinions?

Very different than headlights. I have the Amber pros. Not overpowering at all. They focus closer in and more out to the side in a broader beam. Good compliment to regular headlights

Any chance you have a picture to show the balance between the fog lights and the headlights?

My case is a little different since I have retrofitted rx350 projectors with the ss3 pros. However, the light output on the pros is significant and definitely lights up the night. It makes rainy and foggy conditions a lot more manageable. Plus the 20% off sales right now will save you a ton.

Hit up @memario1214 for a good deal

Having the Sports, the only time I notice the fogs over the headlights is around dusk or when it’s really misty/foggy, the kind of conditions that cause low beams to just get lost.

I don’t think it’ll be an issue since the two really shouldn’t be overlapping is properly aimed.

I just don’t want a ton of yellow where my headlights get lost in. Aiming them should take care of that worry

I have the sport version. Here's couple pics of how I pointed it when I first got it, will probably lower it more eventually, haven't done it since I haven't gone out at night with the pandemic. Note: the picture was taken with cellphone higher up than eye level

You my friend have saved me from buying BD. i have read through a majority of that thread and some of that info makes my head spin. I did read your full review on the DD SS3 and im pretty determined to get a set.

I figure I'm gonna go with the Pro version and if its too much or if they overpower the stock headlights...well then i will offer them up for a discount or a trade with someone who wants to go from the sport to the pros.

Actually since you're on here. I read through your headlight upgrade thread too. its a Shame that Philips doesn't make those HIDs anymore, would have loved to upgrade the headlights too.

The Pros are the way to go if you actually use them in poor weather. If you really truly need fogs you want all the power possible, and selective yellow will perform best. If you are the type to daily cruise with your fogs on unnecessarily, the Sports are better to reduce glare to oncoming traffic.

XD did re-release the Philips HID re-based bulbs, they have a different bulb base now like the rest of the China XD HIDs. To be clear Philips makes HID bulbs so far higher performing than those, that the XD product look like toys. Those are just rebased (likely in China) Philips capsules into a halogen base. Move to a real HID D-series bulb from a reputable German made Osram or Philips using +150 - +200% technology and there will be no comparison to those reman China products.

okay you helped me decide what kind of fog light to get here in the harsh CA weather.

So is the issue the rebase with a floating gasket that will potentially cause the bulb to bounce around in the headlight? I need to do some more digging around to find a good German made HID bulb then. If you have a suggestion for a stock headlight with stock wiring I’d appreciate it.
