Allows for more caster something your stock UCAS are limited but at 2 inch of lift stock uca’s are still okay. If you want the steering wheel to feel “more heavy” less floaty or increase straight line stability at speed change them out.

Its going to be close with 285/75/17 you are going to need a good CMC job and pinch welds for that to clear. I have a few buddies with 3rd gens with that. Most are running closer to 3" of lift as well.

You don’t need UCA’s because of tires. You need it because of the lift to get your trucks alignment back into spec.

True but being able to push caster forward moves the tire away from the cab mount.

High caster upper control arms and adjustable upper control arms allow you to adjust your alignment based on the new characteristics of the vehicle after being lifted. This also facilitates the fitment of larger tires by gaining positive caster and allowing you to adjust for maximum wheel fitment.

That said other factors include CMC and wheel specs in regards to fitment so while you may have a good alignment your wheel specs may require additional modifications.

Yes, but it’s not required. The point I’m making is you don’t need them. Sure it helps eliminate rubbing, but sure isnt required. Some people will just trim as needed.

Also depending on what factory wheel you have and what offset 285s may rub the UCA.

You shouldn’t ask those guys at a regular discount tire. A lot of techs don’t even know unless you go to an off-roading shop that specializes in Tacoma.
Everyone here already covered the benefits of UCA and the reason you need it for 285/75/16.
Those are 33s and you are going to need more than just UCA. You may need (every Tacoma is different): CMC, bend the pinch weld a bit, UCA, 3+ caster when you get alignment, a different backspacing/offset wheels.
Those tires technically fit without doing anything, the problem is they will rub when you turn or hit a bump. It can even be as bad as just braking and your front end dips and starts rubbing.
