I was given a lead for a borrow thread on here, so I wet ahead & purchased the bushing. I got myself in queue & as I was typing '07 (the first two characters of the members handle), light dawned on marble head & I realized I was setting myself up to receive a 2005 & up tool. 1st gens are a different size. Anyway, my bad. It was a well intentioned lead & I still should have done my homework. If needed I can purchase the tool. Thought I'd give this a shot after coming up empty handed in buy/sell/trade....

Just which one do you need ??

    7 1/2 "or 8" or 9 "

I have been real good less then $100.00 in tools in 2 years

Be good to have the removal tools for those long weekends

Seems East Cost Gear only ships Fed -Ex and does not recognize my 4 line address that the other carriers do.

No wonder my UPS driver gets the $ big tips

    I need a 7.5 -

I didn’t see a 9 on the ECGS site? (Just got me curious.... i’m like that. Not like a cat.... More like a kid....)

I’m not sure (right now anyway), what else that removal tool would be good for. However, that is not how the McGyverette scenario typically goes. It’s after the pickle has begun. Then the gears start turning. Then the aha! moment, “I know what I can use!” Followed by, “now where did I put that?”

The other thing is if I need to purchase, I suppose I could become the 1st gen loaner....

& you have hit upon my misgivings. The 45.00 kind’a sucks in & of itself. But they are (or were when I bought the part) having a 15% off sale. The kicker was the fed-ex charge of 13.50, which I will now have to pay that again. If my foot could reach my butt....

    Thank you....
I am able to borrow the installer through a parts store. Not the removal tool. It’s not a universal type puller.

Keep hunting you'll get one, just the right person has to read it.

In early days of the swap being made available there was a diagram published of the specs. to cut, drill, grind one yourself.

It starts just a small tab of bar stock, threaded hole in middle. beveled rear edge to go in tilted.

Here we go, the page with measurements to make one. It was a rip off price new anyway and the saying is "If you know how to use it, you have the skill to make it".

looks like the guys at the end of that thread (April) still have the tool and are looking to send it on. Maybe 1 already has it but might be finished. I know borrowing in line does get frustrating. Tell the truth, with napkins stuffed inside, I bet you can pry it out with a stout screwdriver. Kind of go under and kink, crush it . then pull out with pliers.

I just finished that job yesterday makes a bigger difference then you would expect especially if your cv is loose. If you do purchase the tool I’m sure you could resell it and get at lest 50% if your money back. I’ve seen other people on here looking for one as well.

    McGyverette I like that !!

I do not take freight charges $25.00 for 2 clips Ithink that is a winner.

If I could have gotten my Address issues resolved I would have had all 3 sizes on order today .

Like I said I have been good with buying tools .

I have been Lucky over the years bids on jobs paid for a big part of the special tools.

I am curious what your strange noise is

No loose output transfer case bearings ??

Is yours a 7.5? You have a ‘19, so I believe that uses an 8.

I do believe I have a lead on one. Just figuring out the details.
