    Hello Everyone!
    I currently own a 2018 Tacoma SR5 and I am looking to upgrade the suspension on it. I have been doing my research and shopping around and I am mainly looking to upgrade the front and rear shocks that will put me at about a 3 in. lift so I will be able to fit some 285's down the line. So far my top choices are Icon Stage 1 Lift Kit and Fox 2.5 Factory Reservoir Shocks. I really enjoy how both suspensions are adjustable so if anyone has any suggestions or tips that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

    Maintenance: Whatever is needed to keep the truck running great.

    Time and money: Willing to spend up to around $1600 for the suspension itself, looking for good quality not focused on price.

    Installation: Taking it to local shop near me

    Budget: <$1700 if possible

    Weight: Not sure?

    Tow: N/A

    Haul: N/A

    I would rather rebuild warn out suspension and I have other vehicles that can be used if necessary.

    Issues: Yes I am aware of potential issues after lifting my truck.

    No prob, you're either going to need to add a leaf or replace the leaf pack to lift the rear

    Really depends on your budget and how much weight you expect to have in the rear. Adding a leaf is cheaper but you may need to use a grinder during the install, and it doesnt really increase your payload capacity much. It will lift the rear though.
    Headstrong has offers a quality add a leaf.
    For me, because i have a hardshell and a bunch of gear and firewood in the bed of my truck most of the time, when i upgrade my suspension im going to swap the oem pack for an OME leaf pack or dobinsons, im undecided.

    If you’re need a more finely tuned leaf pack you can get a custom one from alcan or deaver but those are obvs expensive.

    Dobinson and OME are about 500 bucks for a pair of leaf packs

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
    You need to go back to the drawing board and rethink your budget. If your going to tear apart a 30,000 truck you better be prepared to lay out a reasonable amount. I would say tires, suspension, wheels plan on 5,000

    Tires and wheels are already done. I’m rocking with 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks wrapped in Method NV’s. I have had my truck coming up on a couple years now and am looking for an upgrade in suspension. I don’t need to rethink anything but thanks for the concern

    Since no one has pointed it out yet: you don’t need to lift three inches to fit 285s. Lifting doesn’t help the areas where you’ll need to trim, really (at 3 inches you’ll still need to trim plastic and do a CMC) and going over 2 inches means you need to do UCAs to get back to alignment and preserve down travel in your suspension.
