Second car. Red Civic. That guy needs to learn how to let off of the clutch pedal. I sense a burnout video, of the clutch, instead of the tires, in his future. Lol

 

Believe it or not my car is really quiet at idle. But still doesn't sound stock I suppose. It's relatively quiet under throttle too actually, even when the wastegates open. I bought the eBay cheapo muffler sections years ago and put some custom tips on them (pretty unsightly tips that came with).

But I actually really like the sound. It's very mechanical and modern sounding to me. The tuner said they had pretty good flow as well.

 

So I have the Magnaflow that came with the URD mark lll kit. Even before I switched shit up on my exhaust jfr pipe, ceramic coated the whole thing minus the muffler, cut off the exhaust tip due to it hitting my new icon rxt springs......I’ve noticed what sounds like a rattle or a couple rocks in my muffler. It drives me fucking crazy!! Only happens when I romp on it going from 2nd to 3rd gear or 3 to 4. I’m thinking of changing up the muffler and going for a quieter sound with a good idle rumble.........thoughts and suggestions please.....

 

Mine has that too. Part of the internals have broken loose or free. 2nd time this has happened. Annoying

 

Although I use Magnaflow on my other vehicles, I'm not a huge fan of them or Borla or Flowmaster. The plus is that they do have a lot of applications/sizes. Im really happy with the Wicked Flow muffler that I use in my application.

I tend to try the smaller exhaust vendors.

Borla sucks and is super overrated, Magnaflow is ehh at best.

Hourglass internals for my muffler only for great sound, no drone, and no internals to blow out.

Black Widow is my go to muffler.

I couldn't finish it either - reminds me too much of some of the abominable things I've seen and heard at car shows over the years.

My Borla XR1 multicores are alright. Could never get the sound quite right though. Also are probably one of the most expensive universal mufflers they sell.

Was thinking of going with Spintech when I get my Tundra but I think I’ll just be cheap and move my Borlas over.

 

Spintechs are great for V8s, they really sound awesome, but they sounds amazing on pushrod V8s in particular. Mac Flowpaths are excellent as well, but their only issue is that they are built cheaply.

 

possible cat failure sent chunks in?? or the muffler interior welds could have broke loose. bang on them with your fist and see if there is anything to learn.

 

I did when I had the exhaust apart......but it does definitely sound like it’s coming from the rear (like exactly where the muffler is) a broken interior weld sounds right though......

 

an option i havent considered. i like the idea of supporting smaller companys. my favorite civic mufflers are the loud ones with an auto trans. super awesomeness.

 

I’m curious how one big Spintech would do for sound instead of 2 smaller ones. Not too inclined to buy 2 new SS mufflers when I’ve got so much other stuff to buy.
