Thank you sir I did the whole interior today, windows, and a 2nd coat of paint sealant. I put my bottle of glass cleaner on the hood for a second and it glided right off the hood and into the ground. That's how slick the truck is after paint sealing

Buttoned up a few loose ends. Also got the intercooler fan installed and wired up.

Took it out on it's maiden voyage and gassed her up. I rode along monitoring everything on the laptop. Coolant temp never climbed past 188°. All looked good and no fuel, oil, coolant, brake/clutch and power steering leaks. Next up is the gear box and diff fluid change.

    20200523_164532.jpg

The motor is so fresh he didn’t want to dip into the boost much. Think he hit 5 psi once. 400 HP and 300+ lbs ft of torque are what he can expect from this setup.

Needs a more precise tune. Haltech (his management system) is based here in Lexington. But they don't do rotary tunes. So we'll trailer her to Louisville soon for a proper tune with an affiliated shop.

Only 70lbs. Just a metal cabinet and not a safe (which are just as easy to break into).

    Yeup.

My home set is craftsman. Bought it like 22 years ago. Over 1000 pieces.
So between that set and my 4 other tool boxes and the one at the shop
I have like 3 of everything. When I retire I’ll be able to cull the heard.
Back then Craftsman was the go to.

My neighbor in college worked on cars from his garage. He he also had about 4 of everything and would always grab a couple of whatever tool he needed.

I asked why and he said "I get paid to fix cars and not fetch tools...if I drop one I have another ready to go".

Great guy and I always remember that when using tools.

I have wrenches I custom made for one job.
Can’t remember what some of them were used for now.

    Thanks.

He bought the car 25 years ago from the original owner...it was 2 years old then.

But after years as his DD, the ol' girl was tired like a lot of rotary engines get with age. It's been down for about 3 years now. So he decided a new engine was in order. He dumped the twin turbo factory setup for a single...much larger one...with several go-fast goodies.

She still needs some love....including tires, new dampers, some other assorted things...and that tune. But 400 horse in a 2700 lbs car = fun. :D

Once she's all back together I'll snap some more pix. These old RX-7 FD models are getting quite rare. Glad to see it back on the road.
