It's still a Spintech. It will sound the same amount of awesomeness if you run one vs two.

I used to own two Borla ProXS mufflers which I had on my GTO and they were two giant pieces of shit. Biggest waste of money ever. Even OE sounded better than those junks.

I think I wound up with Corsa DB red series mufflers on it by the time I got rid of the Goat and I was very happy with the way it sounded.

Great to know. One SS Spintech is right around $280. Two of them is too rich for my blood.

One issue I came across with one of my Borlas is the steel is pretty thin. Muffler broke right off the hanger that was welded to it. Got to see the packing inside it though. Went back to the muffler shop and he switched the hanger to be welded to 3 points instead of 2. Haven’t had an issue since.

Nothing too crazy. Still have to drive people around. I know the interior will never be as quiet as my Lexus so I’m willing to live with a bit of volume. Especially since I’ll have the exhaust dumped after the axle.

Oh I know. I added a lot. This is my trunk. I’ve got more behind and under the rear seats and inside the doors. I even added a bunch to the trunk lid. Crazy quiet. But the car was already quiet from the start.

Since we are on topic of our exhausts.........school me on this. I’m sure it’ll sound dumb....but , what exactly does a resonator do? Do they simply calm down noise?

Yes they do. Some stock OE vehicles integrate resonators into them before the muffler to further quiet down sound before arriving to the already quieting muffler assembly.

They take down either a specific frequency range or the whole thing. I’ve heard of people doing J-pipes/helmholtz to bring down certain frequencies. You have to do some math in order to figure out which frequency though.

I want to deviate for a second to say that I REALLY dig the new 392 Scat pack package Charger SRT-8s...

I just saw a white one with blue racing stripes and the sleek style hood scoop that doesn't protrude out of the hood. He had some nice rims on it too, all black

    God my mouth was watering..

I saw one of those new C8 Corvette’s going down Broadway in SF. That made me drool.

I guess I’m getting to that tender old age...

I saw a C8 the day I went to Napa to get my Ruthenium plugs.

I still prefer the C7 over the C8, but I can respect what it looks like and I think it actually looks pretty slick. It just doesn't have the classic Vette look we all grew up with so it's going to take a second to adjust to it.

I guess we are all getting to that tender old age now. Lol.

I have had that on quite a few of my Magnaflow mufflers. For that reason specifically, I chose to try two brands which I haven't before. A www.Stainlessbros.com resonator and Borla muffler. Note on the Borla, they use MIG wire feed, except they use stainless wire. Where-as a lot of other companies do not.

Those parts are on my recently finished custom exhaust on my Bimmer, but still. Needed to try some new contenders. Quality construction, and they sound very good in my opinion. I certainly was trying to stay away from the RICE above.

The ultimate question is, how long will they last before breaking down?

@12TRDTacoma is right. That 3" XR1 muffler was quite expensive.

The only thing I see are the three different material grades. :sawzall::welder: in me.

Oh I know what you mean. I’d take an old Stingray over a C8 any day of the week.

Like that 4 ft long row of buttons in the C8...hows my old ass going to operate that shit?

It pains me that my X pipe is mild steel on my Lexus exhaust. Thing went to brown town within 500 miles lol.

I actually raced one getting onto the freeway once. I don't think he was too happy that I was keeping pace with him and he wasn't gaining anything.

He refused to acknowledge me for the next 10 miles.

We all have to do what we must, rather than we want, at times.

Peripherals disappear and snooty ignore. Like a walk of shame. Lol.

People need to relax and quit taking such things as a kick to the nuts. Have some fun and give a thumbs up.

Left a Long travel Tundra driver scratching his head yesterday. That was great. I think he was genuinely surprised.
