835.jpg Gave her a bath! Just did a 2500 mile "social distancing from California" trip...Nevada, Utah, Arizona and she got quite messy! But sure was nice to spend some quality time away from this place!

My coilovers look similar. What do you use to remove the rust?

Drilled some big ass holes in my truck!

and did the “cowl induction snorkel” mod from here->

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cowl-induction-snorkel.525314/

thanks @badger for the great write up!

Pretty quick mod. Now I can ditch my already chopped up fender liners and moved the intake a little higher and a bit more protected without having to add a snorkel.

will be wrapping the aluminum tube, and covering all the holes with wire mesh soon to help keep the critters out.

and didn’t bother wash my engine bay. Because who fucking cares. It will just get dirty in a few days anyways

There was no easy solution. For the coils i custom powder coated king coils. For the bodies themselves you have two options. 1 wire wheel or sandblast what you have and paint them. You only use a small portion of the treads, so only the use part will rust again or 2. Buy new bodies. I bought 1 from kartek for this rebuild. The top unscrews from the body with a little bit of heat. Then screw it onto the new body with a new o ring.

I used plasti-dip on the emblems and for the bumper I just bought a new cover off eBay. $105 shipped and I figure I can sell the chrome one locally for similar price.

That model year truck. Those headlights. I've always thought as the most dramatic mod I've ever seen!

ebay also sells completely assembled bumpers with the trim and brackets. They are around $200. That might be easiest. The only rust I had was on bolts which I just hit the heads with a little spray paint.

that's the part, you could find it a little cheaper at some dealerships but then you gotta pay shipping, so it evens out either way.

As for the lower white plastic part, I pulled the chrome trim off the OEM shifter, sawed it flat, painted it black, then stuck it on. The chrome trim pulls straight off, there's some fins on there but you can grind em away so you can just glue it together. maybe not the most elegant solution but

I wouldn't recommend using a hacksaw though lmao. I'm just severely lacking in tools and made do with what I had. I'm sure there's something better

I did this on the last Tacoma I had. Spray 4-5 coats of the plasti dip glissifier over the white. When it starts to get dingy you can scrub it lightly with a good cleaner wax and it will brighten right back up like new. It can be hard to get all the wax residue out of the plasti dip but if you spray it with a detail spray it’ll wipe right off

    Love it!

I'm planning to add all these same lights soon as well. Went with the Diode Dynamics fogs though instead of the cali raised. How did you wire your raptor lights to turn on? with your fogs?

Very clean. What grill? And what's the deal with the mini stripes?
