209 TACOS - B/S and shenanigans

#Goals. Is Robert really interested in my audio setup? Sounds like you guys already have the 10s already.

Also - just got back from a daytrip up at Bowman/Sawmill/Faucherie....was definitely busy but not as packed as I was expecting. I can say though...it was like a damn toyota meetup. Tacomas and Runners all decked out with gear....never seen so many GFC/Drifters/Habitat in my life.

 

The 10s we have are for my truck. It'll be a minute before Robert will be able to do anything with audio. Next thing he needs to do is a bumper, so he can actually mount his skids. The lower valance of his bumper is rednecked with some bailing wire or some shit from the previous owner.

 

How's the seating position?

 

Good, for Robert. Maybe a bit high for me.

 

Got the rig back together. Old manifold was crack almost all the way around.

New one is shiny!




Also might be up for some wheeling if the rim trail is open...

Got the tire on the swing out. Had to let almost all the air out to get the handle to bite.

On a side note....took my pops with me to Bowman and after seeing all of the other 4runners now he wants one....if all goes well tomorrow he might be driving home with this

Came across this from earlier. Hopefully things have changed.

 

Need to see if we can get @Pickeledpigsfeet to chime in. I think he's involved with the club that maintains Niagara Rim.

 

Not in a while. If they arent volunteering to go in and clean up all the downed trees then that might be why niagra is included in the closure. It used to be that we would go in the as soon as they deemed the roads dry enough and spend the weekend clearing the trails. Then niagra would open to the public the next weekend.

My friends that work for the FS on the recreation side have all been sitting at home so I suspect that they dont have the manpower and frankly the local admin is looking for any reason to keep motorized recreation out of the forest.

 

I'm in. IF it happens. After seeing the pigsfoot post looks iffy.

 

So... I can find no update that supersedes this one. Keeping 5N01 closed through June 30.




If that's the case, I'm down to taking a other run from Cottonwood Rd all the way up to Dodge Ridge.

I think that's very doable now. Since my dumb ass wont be leading the expedition in the wrong direction before getting to 3N01 this time. We've already cleared much of 2N07 and 3N07. It'll be more of a sight seeing tour than a trail run, but it'll be out in the woods, which is better than most any alternative.

I think Mr. Forest Ranger guy is about to see some civil disobedience in the forest if he doesn't pull his head out of his ass.

 

I’m seeing the district rangers don’t want to pull the plug. Our district ranger is waiting for our folks to get certain PPE for clean bathrooms.

Re-wired my bumper lights (post fabrication reassembly)
