But cheese and taters made with smoked cheese, smoked salt and even smoked taters would be BETTER!

yeah I usually do reheats in the instant pot it’s been doing me good so far. Except pulled pork I just do that low in a skillet.

Blasphemy but, I did smoked potatoes, salsa, and Mac and cheese. They were okay but just not really worth it, and/or just too much smoke on one plate. But cheesy tater tots are freaking amazing, don’t care how ‘Murican they sound. There’s a tot place here in providence that’s awesome, have to go during trivia night because the usual crowd is not my scene.

I once made my own "fresh" tots... and never thought to put cheese in them but could have easily.. Long before the air fryer.. but it may be something to revisit some day when I am bored. LOL

How did they come out? I’ve heard for them to come out right they need to be flash frozen.

Well not exactly.. but a quick trip to the deep freeze did the trick.. the tots turned out great but not the greatest. I was proud that I made them from scratch but now I wish I had thought of putting cheese in them. I got rid of the deep fryer when I got the air fryer.. so I'm not sure how they would turn out now. Rather than use the pastry gun to squeeze out the shape.. it might be better to treat the potato mixture like a meatball mixture and make tot balls to wrap around a chunk of cheese. I would also invest in some type of food processor to shred the potatoes vs the last time of grating them by hand.

Dang it.. now that I am thinking about this again.. why not some cooked and crumbled bacon in the potato mixture to go along with the cheese? I used to make bacon wrapped tater tots in the deep fryer then cover them with shredded mango habanero cheese. In the air fryer it would work too but they would need to be "stood up" to get and even cook on the bacon

Bacon cheese tots would be awesome. Some things I think are still better deep fried. :)

Ribs are done, chopped into individual servings for the friends and all. Smoked some brats, then into a bath of beer and onions. Just waiting on the friends to show up.
