Long Range Automotive Gas Tank - 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma

Increase fuel capacity to 32 gallons for your 3rd Generation Double Cab Short Bed Toyota Tacoma.

Purchased new and installed for a couple months. Drove great and had nearly 500 miles per tank with larger tires, armor, and 5.29’s. Only issue I had was a recurring 0P456 emission code thus the reason for removal.

My loss could be your gain. These tanks are nearly $2000 dollars.

Out of curiosity, what did you do? Swap to the standard tank again? Was that evap code causing errors for you?

 

Pressurize the tank with air and spray with soapy water to find a leak. Could be a bad weld.

 

How is the Taco Lean++ with these?

I did swap back to the original. No driving issues whatsoever. It ran great but only had the evap code.

 

No difference noted.

 

Cool, good to hear. I've been planning one for a bit, but not able to pull the trigger right now. Glad to hear it worked out fine for you though. Did the fuel computer get all sorts of confused with the new tank size?

You could run approximately 80-100 miles before the sending unit would get off of “Full tank” and another 80 miles once you hit “0 miles” left. I got 482 miles with an entire tank of fuel and that is with armor and 5.29’s plus a tendency to be heavy on the skinny pedal.
