I am looking for a used Tacoma and i don’t wanna spend a ton of money. I know the Tacoma’s rep for reliably, and I’m hoping to get a long second life out of one. There is one I’m thinking about with 175,000 miles on it. Other than the frame...obviously....what should I be looking for /expect l in terms for common issues. Is that too many miles? Also, are there any easier preventatives that can be done to hopefully lessen the chance of a major issue down the road?
Thanks for any help you can give me

Headgaskets were an issue on the early model V6s. Other than the rust (which you know about) it's just standard used car buying.

Motor mounts were also a issue for that year

I've got 175k on my 07. I've had to replace a wheel bearing, u- joint, and resistor pack for the AC blower. That's it. If it's been maintained well, it's not uncommon for these to last well into the 300k range. Good luck.
