    Here's today's absolutely bonkers story

Today we, like idiots, decided to go to the beach.... Just like all of the rest of South Texas... Took all our lives to get 35 miles down the coastline and there were still people everywhere. We finally found a spot that had more than 100yds between us and the next vehicles and let the dog off the leash for a while. Time to leave rolls around and we get on the road. On the ride home my next door neighbor calls. There was a nasty car wreck on the street behind us and the driver bolted. He jumped a few fences and was in my back yard when my neighbor called. My neighbor said he heard someone moaning from my back yard and he knew we weren't home. So he peaked through some of the pickets and saw the guy all banged up hiding up against the fence and my house. We hang up, he calls 911, I call SAPD to give them permission to go into my back yard and into my house if they feel they have reason. I'm two hours from home. SAPD said they were looking for him. I didn't realize it was as crazy as it would turn out to be, I assumed he didn't have insurance or was drunk or something. Needless to say, the ride home took a bit less than two hours. I never got the follow-up call from the SAPD and could only assume what might be happening. To top things off, since that power outage the other day, my alarm and cameras haven't been working properly. We get home, I send the dog in and cleared the house room by room. Thankfully, all clear. I go check the back yard and it's empty but I see red and blues flashing off of the houses behind us. So I jump back in the truck and head over. I get around the block and the cops are still digging around in the totaled stolen car. I got out and talked to the officer. He said two guys and a girl, all early 20's, had been running all around the South side and had turned into our neighborhood when the cops caught up with them. Likely trying to lose the cops or ditch the car and hide. They had hit at least three other cars in our neighborhood alone and shot at someone who started following after a hit and run. When they wrecked, three people got out, the cops nabbed two of them but one got away, possibly with the pistol as they hadn't recovered it. The two they caught were drunk and high on what the police assumed was meth or spice or something that makes you insane. The K9 couldn't track them and the weather was too crappy for the Eagle to fly but they were still combing the neighborhood for him.

    Never a dull moment.

I don't know anything about your particular bus but my friend is a shop foreman at on of the bus maintenance facilities for clark county school. He probably knows more about them than anyone. If you run into questions just let me know.
