    Lots, straight from the factory.
I’m smoking a brisket and a pork shoulder. Here’s a pic of the pork.

Don't TRDs come with cold air intake?

If it's just eye candy, it's something I would have enjoyed about 3 time over the last 3 years.

OEM boxes are pretty dang good now a days, I stopped with the cold air/ram air stuff years ago and usually just do a drop in.

only time I have found it worth it recently is on an FI car that benefits from improved airflow or cold air flow.

All tacomas come with cold air intakes stock. Actually most car manufacturers build vehicles with cold air intakes from the factory.

EXACTLY! There is usually a little part of the box that feeds into the grill area or under the car.

Yep, thats what i did. I got the air flow accelerator and TRD drop in. Waiting for the tube now. Saved a lot of money on my poor mans' performance intake.

I bought mine for a little lower than $300.
I just bought all the parts separately, no oiled air filter.

The stock is already CAI, so it is more for eye-candy.
Plus I like the sound during revs, subtle.

Does the filter and accelerator make any difference to the induction sound?

Red coupling and new lid. Yes. but there’s a bit more to it and it’s more efficient design. Instead of the bottom air box piece having a plastic intake nipple going to the fender well, you install a large rubber gromet for a air tight seal, then insert the lower box into that, and the air flow pieces before and after the box are straight through design. Also you get a TRD performance oiled filter. Is that better than my KN filter? Maybe. if let’s in less contaminants. But like I said it’s a great design.. almost flawless but just understanding what to expect was my point in helping ppl with their decision.

It sounds a bit better at WOT, but that might be in my head. Also it feels like throttle response improved a bit. I didnt install the tube yet, but i think thats when ill hear the most difference in sound.

The K$N short ram intake made a big difference on my ranger, FWIW. The stock air box was tiny though. Tacomas come stock with tundras' airbox so, all these aftermarket intakes or filters just add noise and improve throttle response a bit.

WOT? Wide open throttle? Yeah I think you’re right, that metal pipe should resonate quite a bit. I always prefer a louder induction noise over an exhaust noise. Especially when it comes to a standard engine like a Tacoma. Now if I had a Ferrari I think I’d be happy with a loud exhaust too :burnrubber:
So, is the Tacoma Filter the same part number as the Tundra?

    Yes on WOT.

Im not 100% certain on the part number but i dont see why not. My package said toyota tundra on it. I would assume its the same part number.

I added borla exhaust as well and i love it, sometimes i turn off my music and just listen to it, music to my ears, haha!

If you look at the stock intake tube, there is a humongous resonator box, so the straight tube should add quite a bit of noise. I will find out in few weeks when it gets here.

    Ohhh the waiting...:sadviolin:
