Picked up our Tupei Autana XL ruggedized about 2-1/2 years ago. We have used it for tons of road, fishing, hunting and offroad adventuring trips. Spent about 90+ nights in it. 3 adults up top is a little cozy but it works.

I'm making the switch this summer. We had a CVT Mt Shasta, but after a long trip and being on the move almost daily we decided to go for simplicity of setup and teardown. I've pre-ordered the CVT branded Busch Company Alpha tent which should be coming in next month.

I had a similar situation with my RTT when I replaced the bed rack with a KB Voodoo Taco Max. I have the mounting rails running parallel with the cross bars. Fortunately, the rails lined up perfectly with the slots on the cross bars. I ditched the steel mounting plates and used thick fender washers instead to distribute the RTT’s weight more evenly. The mounting bolts are about 12” apart from each other on each side. The RTT has not budged one bit.

    Never enough
Thanks for the reply! I got the specs from 23Zero and the mounting rails for the tent will fit just fine with the pre drilled slots on the rack.
Can't wait for it to get here. Just 2 months lead time :annoyed:

Nice! That is the one I have my eye on. What rack are you going with?

Cap cage is 90% done. Tomorrow I’ll weld the feet on and then decide if I’m bolting to through the bed I also need to set the angle for the back legs. Im also going to put 4 1” pieces of unistrut across the legs to mount my hi lift, shovel and axe that’s just been sliding around the bed and not the bed mat for the feet.

Something I just discovered was that the bushings between the truck bed and the frame are kaput! Flattened to dust and making noise. Thinking of going with the tougher polyurethane bushings. Never even entered my mind that would be an issue down the line. You all might want to check yours.

I have a prinsu rack over both my cab and my canopy topper. I ordered the little 1" tent feet just in case I have clearance issues.

Decided at the last minute to order a bigger rtt. We have a travel trailer and measured the bed in it. 56x 82 inches. So if we’re spending the money might as well get a little bigger and be comfortable. Upgraded to a 3+ at 72x96 extended. Same time frame on availability and same color as what we originally bought.
