Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Yup, you gotta do the stick check. I am solo remote on a lot of trips, with no one to get me out and no cellphone range. For sure my habit of always walking the unsure spots. Good parking spot though, don't have to worry about anyone boxing you in! :)

First off, great looking rig! Secondly, the painted hills are beautiful. It’s a good little jaunt out to the middle of nowhere. Not sure if it’s worth the drive. It really feels like you step back in time! Thirdly, nice looking rig lol!

Out again yesterday trying to find some remote fishing lakes that are new to me. There were 3 lakes I was looking for, but a lot of dead ends and roads too narrow to fit down. Blocked by too much deadfall.

Had some nasty weather creep up with winds gusting up to 55mph, and heavy rain at times. The last not good, as the roads turn to axle grease and good luck getting out even if on the flats as the sides of the roads in this spot are very swampy.

Good day for exploring though and have some ideas now on what roads to take to reach these lakes. There are 20 lakes in this area. Ten are easy access, the others proving to be hard to find. Just need more time to find the right way into these. So many logging roads. None marked, and clear that very few use these roads since there are easier lakes to access.

As with so many of the backwoods lakes in BC it can be frustrating to find. You can see them on your dash GPS, but none of the logging roads are on the GPS and so many of those that you can spend 2 or 3 days trying to get to just one lake, and never reach it despite being less than 1/2 mile away. I had one lake that took me 10 trips over about a 6 year stretch to finally find the route in. That lake is nameless, now one of my favorite spots to fish alone.

Took the Arctic trail loop today. We had a bunch of rain so I was hoping for better puddles. Truck barely got dirty. Was still fun taking the new truck out.

Is that one of the arms of Shasta lake in the background? Looks awesome either way.
