Mine didn't have when I bought it, but after the first rain and seeing all the shit kicked up on the side of the truck I bought some OEM knockoffs from Amazon. I'd rather not have them on, I don't like how firm they are, but I also don't want to wash my truck every time it rains.

This poll is flawed. It is only concerned with the look of mudflaps. Think about others as well.

Mudflaps protect the other drivers on the road from rocks flinging off your tires. Ever get paint/windshield chips from a big semi or lifted truck with missing flaps? I have, along with many others.

Just saying to be considerate and think about others and keep mudflaps on your rig.

I find the stock mud flaps pretty flimsy and they tend to get hung up on the trail.

I dont mind them. My 18 year old boy calls me an old man bc of the flaps but guess what? It keeps my truck clean and my tires sling rocks like crazy.

Stock mudflaps here so I don't get as many rock chips.I found that even if I sit the truck down on the mud flap they spring back into place once I'm off whatever I'm on.

I installed them on my truck to protect the rockers from as much chipping and the rear flaps from keeping as much mud and debris from packing into the corner of the box. I like the looks better without them but having been through rust repair (previous truck) I think they are a good idea.

Not saying you are wrong but I’ve had an equal amount of windshield and paint chips from SUVs and sedans alike and pretty much all of those don’t have mud flaps. Are they being inconsiderate?-(Loaded question:p) The biggest chip on my windshield now came from a f-150 w/ mud flaps so that doesn’t always work:notsure: I just put on 255/85/16 st MAXX’s and took off mud flaps so the guys didn’t have to F with them installing and so the fronts didn’t rub (which I’ve heard of happening on this size) I think it makes the truck look more aggressive but the flaps make it look more sleek. So I guess it matters what your going for:cool: I may put the rear ones back on cuz those shouldn’t rub since those tires don’t need to turn, then I won’t lose all functionality and save a few people that are behind me:thumbsup: Sliders w/ plates that I will get eventually will solve the no front flap issue:D

I think looks are better without but in this case functionality takes precedence. I did replace the OEMs with Rek Gens. The stock ones generate a ball shriveling cunch sound when they hit rock. It was hard to live with that.

The Husky’s are shorter and sturdy.

@Rick111 - I am going a bit off topic here but why do you want 'sturdy'? I got rid of the OEMs exactly because they were rigid. I wanted something that complies with the law (of keeping your vehicle equipped with a means prevent following vehicles getting peppered with road debris), keeps aforementioned debris off my paint and does not make me pee my pants when it scrapes.

What does the sturdiness (i.e. inflexibility) add? Not debating you, just want to know.

Good man! I may be crazy but I think my stocker looks better with mudflaps. It didn’t have them when I got it and I put them on just to reduce the rock fling. At least you just putting back on rears protect cars behind you.

Also, you have a valid point. A rock chip could come from following a Ferrari, a Toyota Corolla, or a stock minivan, but it is much less likely.

Ok, how is this. A vehicle with mudflaps is a validated way to “mitigate” rocks thrown behind it. There are many variables on many different vehicles one can argue. My main point being that if you lift up a truck, throw bigger tires (many times offset), and tear off the mudflaps, it is a rock throwing machine. Same as a big semi or dump truck with no mud flaps.

My truck came without mud flaps but the gravel roads were causing a lot of rocks to be picked up by the tires and thrown against the rocker panels so that is why I installed them. These models are a bit shorter than the OEM version and I have gone through rough trails with deep ruts. So far no contact with the ground. As for sturdiness, I meant it as a description of quality. I would image the softer rubber mud flaps some folks are using would be better it you are concerned with hitting something. Not a problem for me.

Gotcha. Where I live it's all either paved or sand or rather big rocks. It really is all about where and how you use it, isn't it?

IMO looks better without. If I never had to drive on gravel I would take them off my 18 TRD OR. They don’t look terrible and help with protection so I’ll leave mine on.
