I noticed the surge all but dissapeared when I removed my sway bar, which is strange, because the consensus here is that it's caused by a slight amount of axle wrap in the rear...did you break a sway bar link?

TURN YOUR CAPS OFF, And correct me if I'm wrong the surge was the a/c compressor kicking on. Maybe now your compressor is bad?

x2... I wonder if during the accident the A/C system lost pressure. WHen it was fixed they didn't fix the A/C therefore stopping the surge.

I just want to add, on my first Tacoma, a '97, I noticed the "surge" big time when I had the A/C on. Here we are going into '11 and it's still going on.

    Makes me lol.

Did your leaf springs shift a bit as a result of the accident? Might want check your u-bolts and make sure their tight.

Weird, maybe something on the electrical side and your compressor is just always on, hence no surge.... I'm just guessing. Is there a way to check that, maybe someone else would know how?
