    Hey everyone,

First post, first Taco, first truck!

So for my first frivolous expenditure I read so posts here in the forum and bought the TRD style grill from Mad Hornets. I just arrived today and I think I got too excited and didn’t read the detail. The grill that arrived didn’t come with the Toyota letters. Any idea where I can get just the letters for a decent price?

They come in two separate packages, I’m in the same spot and connected with MadHornets after the grille showed up without the letters. They should show up in a few days, don’t lose hope!

Mine came with the letters in a separate box also, but came on the same day. Just as a warning, if you need the garnish I would just go ahead and get one somewhere else. The grill has been great but the garnish never would work. I ended up buying another one off Amazon that had good ratings. Mad Hornets also has a garbage return policy

I have one I bought from The Taco Garage. It came quickly and was well packaged and of excellent quality. They didn't have any radar transducer covers at the time I ordered so I bought one off ebay. It was far better quality than I expected.
I have heard a number of reports of people having issues with their radar transducer having to "relearn" or functioning erratically, especially in the rain. I had no issues with mine. I put the transducer and cover back together carefully and it worked fine from day one. Rain, snow, no problems. The adaptive cruise works fine. I suspect the problems may have come from a loose install where moisture is getting in somewhere or the cover is moving and making the transducer think something is is in front of it. When you get your grill, take the time to do it carefully.

I wish Toyota would just sell these things at a reasonable price rather than acting like a bunch of pucker butts about it. The Pro grill ought to just be the grill, it just looks so much better than the cheese grater one on my OR model. I guess it did create a nice side hustle for some people though.

The garnish fit. It just kept tripping the warning light to clean it. I could go about fifty miles at best. When I first installed it only went ten max. The one from Amazon looked identical but worked. The install was tight. Everything was as it should be. It was the garnish

I had a bad experience with the mad hornets. The screws that came with it either werent long enough or wide enough to get a grip. And the sensor couldnt be screwed in. I had already sold the other grill so i rigged it up as i could. I contacted mad hornets, they were no help.

Glad to hear some people are having good experiences with them. I was about to order from them yesterday, until I looked them up with BBB.Capture.jpg

Seems people's experiences are all over the board. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and got it in 8 days. Everything was in one box and it fit well. Took about 10 minutes to install with the majority of that time being removing the stock grill and bezel.

Thank you very much for the offer, I do really appreciate it. Turns out my letters came in together with the TSS garnish yesterday.

I got it I installed today. Garnish was a tight fit with a tiny amount of trimming (actually did with a heated up screw driver) necessary to make it fit as one of the tabs wasn’t snapping into place.

Didn’t drive much, so in this case the sensor hasn’t tripped. We will see how it goes, keeping my fingers crossed. If I do have trouble, do you have the eBay seller that you have success with for the garnish?

Me too. Same thing. Mad Hornets sucks and has terrible customer service. I would never buy anything from them again.
