I am going to be doing a HID retrofit with 7X6 headlights. But, I can't seem to find any 7X6 headlights with plastic lenses, now. I have checked ebay and Amazon. Does, anybody know where to get 7X6 Headlights with plastic lenses?

Glass lens with metal buckets are much better quality.

But a huge pain to do and time consuming.

    But very rewarding once done

    Nice,
Nice, truck. Same year as mine. I was told that glass lenses distort the light output. But, I do glass holds up better than plastic.
How did you esperate the lenses? I was told that it can't be done.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Personally I’d run the truck-lite led headlights. Put them on a buddies truck and the output is wonderful. (Granted it was a GM)

    Thanks,

    There are two easy ways.

    1) buy a quart of acetone and put the bucket in a glass cooking tray.

Put the lens in upside down and fill the lens bucket from the inside,
Make sure the acetone is also above the glass seam on the outside and inside.

Leave over night in garage and the lens will fall out the next morning.

    2) the 2nd way is to put lens in the oven to let it warm up so the glue gets flexible.

Then get a wood stick and push the lens out from the back side going slowly.

Don’t use and metal on the glass edges because it will chip.

Don't want to do LED's. At least not right now. HID's are still better.

Thanks, I will try the glass ones and give the acetone a try. I heard that the oven won't work. Do you know how hot to get the oven and how long it takes for the glue to soften?

You actually don’t have to do the oven thing.

Just take a hairdryer and warm up the seam and then get a wood stick so you don’t scratch the glass
and push very slowly from one side inside from the back and it will come out with the glue.

The acetone will completely destroy the glue and it will fall out without a push.

It depends on the lens you buy,

These Nokya lens are perfect clear with ZERO distortion.

It’s definitely a long project tho,
But I can help you if you need.
    The end results are amazing

I saw a pair of Rampage for about the same price on Amazon, which are glass lenses. From reviews they are one of the best as far as 7x6 halogen out put goes. Might get 'em now.

Which projectors did you use? They look like Mini H1. I have the Mini D2S 3.0 that I've had for awhile that I'm finally getting around to doing.

The Rampage Im pretty sure is the same with a different name,

I used the MINI H1, 7.0 and it was tight with those but very doable.

The DS2 will be a challenge to fit in those buckets as I’m pretty sure it’s longer.
My MINI are right up against the front lens as it is and just a little space left infront of the battery in the back on the driver side.

I’m not sure the length of the D2S 3.0 tho.

I did upgrade my bulbs a few months ago to these bulbs 175.00.
An incredible amount of controlled light form the 7x6 lens. No photos yet of them tho

I am trying to figure out if I want to paint the retrofit or not to match the grill or go with the stock chrome look. It does look good with it painted.

    Tasteful modifications :)
I forgot what I have, but I got them off eBay and they work fine. They’re a glass housing that didn’t come with bulbs but it’s interchangeable so you can swap bulbs in and out of them no problem
