That's true. I meant they are in a space they normally wouldn't occupy. Normal install the struts are closer to the inner fenders.

Installed the hood struts today. Not too difficult:p:D started snowing on me after I drilled the first hole! I used touch up paint on them so no corrosion down the line:headbang: I like em!D192D864-31F1-4C4C-83E9-BAB12C7D5188.jpg

I came across this same issue and sent you a message with what I saw. I too am going the spacer route, just need some longer bolts.

Thanks for the note @Hurl19! Looks like the clutch reservoir needs to be spaced away to clear the struts. If you could let me know what thickness spacer was needed, and the length of the longer bolt, I'll be sure to add that information to the description and the instructions.

Also very interested to know the thickness required for spacing and the length of the bolt. I have a TRD OR with the clutch reservoir set-up like this and want to make this adjustment to the reservoir before I order and install the struts. @SpikerEng , will you be implementing an option to your kits for 3rd gen TRD OR manual trucks to include these spacers and bolts to allow the installation of your kits on these trucks? If so, I would pay a little extra if provided in the kit. Thanks!

Funny you should ask, I'm working with @Hurl19 to come up with some parts needed for a high quality spacer kit to relocate the clutch reservoir. If I can make it affordable, I'll add it to the webpage for folks to grab. Solid aluminum spacers and grade 10.9 bolts, hopefully for under $10.

@SpikerEng thanks for the update! I would definitely prefer to purchase from you if you decide to offer these for the hood strut kit. Watching this thread and your site in anticipation.

I should have a kit ready by end of the week, consisting of black anodized aluminum spacers and yellow zinc plated grade 10.9 bolts

Very nice! It will be nice to have these black anodize as well! Will this be a separate hardware kit or an option to purchase with the strut kit?

Thanks! It'll be offered as a separate item on the website - you can buy it together with the strut kit (and thus save on additional shipping), or just buy it by itself.

Someone asked on another thread if auxiliary batteries can be accommodated with the hood struts. The answer is yes, though in some cases the clamp will need to be loosened and the battery slid an inch or so towards the center, like this:

Installed mine today! Not sure why I waited so long to do it! Also if you don't have a pneumatic rivet gun, one that can angle its head definitely helps!

Looks great @JaTe . That's an interesting rivet gun, I haven' seen one like this before. How do you like it?

The rivet is awesome. Easily spins around to get the best angle/grip to squeeze.

Will do, won't be for 2-3 weeks, but I will post them when done! Pretty sure my wife is ordering the struts and spacer kit for my upcoming b-day and if not I will place the order :D.
