Stock gears
25-2700 rpm hwy 4th gear
35-3800 interstate 3rd gear
Regear would be ideal. I'm seriously contemplating 5.29 Nitro Gears.
Camper is 26' Forest River 261BHXL.
4750# dry. Around 5800# loaded.
I don't go cross country, and hardly ever interstate. I'm ok with it. Stops fine. Pulls fine. Never overheats or complains. Just works a little harder than I'd like it to.

 

Noticed a torn mounting hole on my Gear Tech Protec splash guard. Patched it with a leftover piece of GrillPro BBQ mat material and liquid electrical tape:

 

Checked fit of new Taconet (www.taconets.com) cargo net, very pleased!

 

KN Blackhawk intake honestly made a noticable difference as well. Just gets a bit noisy at the 3800 rpm range. Cool for short bursts, horrid long term.

Thanks man. I’d be doing mostly local trips and I live in the flattest state in the country so I’m thinking I’ll be fine then. How’s your gas mileage while towing that thing?

 

What the hell is that thing? I like it, but can't decide if it's for kids or wash the doggie or adult meditation.

 

My dad had one like that. That summer was the highpoint of his life. Unfortunately it was downhill from there.

 

Pool ... for people to sit in and relax.. I have seen something like this in the past which they filled water with some kind of liner in bed. Somewhere in 90's.

Some recent years, they use the truck bed as cooler.. which they filled up with ice and put drinks in it.

 

Cool, much better than a hot tub in a limo... Can you cruise around with water & a couple back there? Maybe need some awesome shocks. If you were around here, I'd want to try it out.

 

I am not in hawaii, I wish I live there. I heard Hawaii is great.

About cruising around with people in it: nope, not on public roads. You can not drive around with water in it but it depends on the law in your state or country. You can park it in parking lot, campgrounds, backyard at your home, or off road parks, something like that.

If cops see truck with water in bed on public road, can pull it over and possibly give a ticket to the driver.

I don't do that on my truck because I have a topper. I have tools in it for carpentry jobs.

That doesn’t make sense to me… something else Has to have been at play. Is your listed truck 2013 (miles?)? More likely it was going to go out with or without the spacers.

At least you cleaned it, ive been swamped with house projects and the truck has been grossly neglected. Honestly I can’t wait until I get the front yard done so I can refocus on the truck for a bit.

 

When did you have the accident? I didn’t see you post anything about hitting a deer. Where’s the photos of the damage?
