He bought a tune pack so he does have flash manager access.
    We have said this already.

I am not sure exactly what we "promised" or not but I know we didn't promise to be sending out 2.0 before it's done.

What I think people are confused about is that the tune pack gives you access to our tunes + vF access to 2.0 WHEN RELEASED.

We did email people that we would be emailing them tune packs, and have been working on that. But we did not say it would be 2.0, only that they get 2.0 when released.
Over 400 people bouhgt vF in a very short time we are going as quick as we can.

@OVTune , any chance you can work your VF Tuner magic and eliminate the restriction of your truck turning off when you open the door i.e..Remote start?

LOL... that's probably like 1024 bit encryption crap from Toyota. They seem fixed on that safety/security position.

@Djdeadpixel Mat has been great about updates and the relative timeline. Download the flash manager you now have access to...if you did not download the pre-release of 2.0, pm me.

As stated by @inksin have patience. Enjoy VF Tuner, flash the pre-release or create your own from the stock .vft file.

    Thank you Mat and Raphael

I’ve skimmed the last 20+ pages, can someone confirm...
If a new non-OVT user buys VF Tune & a Tactrix 2.0 cable:
1)there is currently a backlog for your unlock code
2)how-to/tutorials for how to DIY tune in VF will be available in June
3)and base/template VF files aren’t available yet, only stock tune files.

    Is this correct?

New vF customer, this whole time I thought I had to wait for my tune pack in my email to get flashed. I just flashed to 1.05 base with flash manager. Glad to finally be on somewhat of the same page. Just curious, before I flashed, I had been using a Shift Sense Pro. Would this still be smart to use with 1.05 base or would it defeat the purpose of the tune?

I'd do this if it wasn't C$1061. I hope there is a sale. I think modifying maps without knowing exactly what you are doing is pretty risky, and I really don't want to pay for tools to do this with. I want only service-proven maps that have about a million kilometres in the real world, on other people's trucks.

I'm not a huge green guy, but you would be surprised how small changes in mapping can lead to massive amounts of pollution. If you look at the models for NOx and similar gases, there are very large exponents. You can create 20 000x the amount of NOx compared to factory. This tool will not stop you as far as I can tell.

If this is how you feel, maybe your best bet would be to go to a dyno shop and have them make you your own personal tune specifically suited for your truck. With the way you feel this isn't the place for you.

If he’s saying the VF tuner is too expensive then he will have a stroke when he sees how much a dyno shop is gonna charge

Ok. Not going to mess with Texas, I want to move there because my government is confiscating about $15k worth of my Knight's Armament collection right now. I have been to DFW many times, friendliest people in the world.

If this vendor is saying their 2.0 tune for my manual transmission truck has a test result that meets California emissions, it's pretty okay with me.

I'm sure you'll agree that the EPA and CARB have a strong interest in emissions tampering software that undermines their whole regulatory concept where every vehicle has a map that an engineer has breathed on with a view to emissions performance. It doesn't prevent the tuning industry, both Roush and Dinan operate above-board and make significant improvements, with the cooperation of Ford and BMW. The government will not like that people can even modify the provided maps.

The last I recall, OVTune had emissions tests that met or exceeded the Toyota standards. That’s a bit 10,000 foot’ish, but it seems that Mat has a sense of maintaining compliance with standards. I’ve yet to hear of a single person failing an emissions test, and some locations still do have the legit sniffer process rather than relying on the ECU to report.

If someone could break this new vftune thing down for me.
I’ve got a 17 tacoma, unknown ECU flash.
What would I need to flash to the 2.0 or whatever the hype is for OVTune?
