Looking forward to having functioning AC again in the house.

 

This is the first house I have ever owned with a heater let alone an AC. Fun figuring it all out lol

 

I can imagine how different that must be! Hoping to have everything back to normal by the end of the week.

 

I remember when we rented a house on Kauai back in 2009, the place had one window unit, no central A/C, and no heat; During the day it was fine, but I was not particularly comfortable at night! Why isn't central air common in Hawaii?

There's my late Grandma on the left (We went to Hawaii in July 2009, and she passed away in January 2015); You can also see my laptop on the table, where I was clearly in the process of editing videos on MovieMaker...

 

Since 2006 (with the first one I can remember actually being in 2001), my mom's side of the family has made a point of having a family reunion just about every year; In 2009, my cousin was getting married and decided to have her wedding in Hawaii. My aunt and uncle even paid to fly their longtime minister out there to officiate the ceremony! Anyway, the family reunions have been as follows...

2014: Supposed to be OBX but cancelled due to my Grandma's failing health

2020: We were going to Ireland, but then the whole COVID-19 thing came along and that ain't happening this year...

These pictures are from the July 2009 Hawaii trip; I cannot believe that this was almost 11 years ago! My cousin and her husband have since had three kids! This was also about a month before I got my learner's permit and over a month before the Tacoma came into my life!

 

My bedroom in the Kauai house, which did not have air-conditioning (and I was not happy about this)...

 

It was a very nice but very dated house; You can see my Grandma sitting down at the dining room table...

 

This brand new 2010 Ford Fusion was my parents' rental car; The black 2009 Impala was my aunt's rental I believe...

I did not have a license so I didn't drive it at all, and I don't think I would have been able to anyway because I was only 20; I really liked this car though! The Fusion was the first car my dad rented that had an AUX input, and it actually had a decent sound system. It also had really good A/C, and after taking a ride in the Impala I decided I liked the Fusion best!

 

If I remember correctly, the garage was not open to us...
