Curious how the Morimoto XB's and the Alpha Rex Nova Headlights compare?

 

The alpha rex looks good except the ugly logo on them, I have the morimoto and love everything about them

 

Is there any deals going on for these headlights right now?

I have DRL on stalk... the first post says it should have amber DRL via DRL on stalk. I tried that and nothing is on. I put stalk on parking light, white DRL comes on. Nothing shows Amber on mine. I like amber DRL function but not on mine. Wiring in wrong spot or what? I have amber as turn signals.

No such thing as an amber DRL with these. The DRL is white. The turn signal is amber.

 

Did you time the hazards perfect for that pic?

 

I think his truck trim is SR5 (or SR if he added fogs himself) since no turn signals on the side mirrors. SR5 has stock amber DRL in the turn signal housings like my old SR5 before I swapped for Sport model.

 

It’s because it’s an SR5 and I had to do the fuse tap for the drls.

I discussed it way back when I first Installed the lights last October.

DRL’s are on all the time.
So on my stalk these are the settings:

1st setting (drl off): white DRL’s
2nd setting (drl on): Amber DRL’s
3rd setting (parking lights): Amber DRL’s
4th setting (headlights): White DRL’s

 

Cool Didn’t know they had an sr5 version or hookup. pretty cool though, you can select what DRL color you feel like running!

 

FYI since they're not designed to run amber constantly, if they fail--how you have them wired may be an issue.

 

It says "If not, the Amber version of the LED DRL's will function as your normal DRL instead of white."

If you think it will have an issue, then why not make us same headlights but with Amber/Amber version instead of White/Amber. I like Amber DRL. And allow us to pick the color for DRL in option before adding them to the cart on website.

SR5 Tacomas have amber DRL in the turn signal housings before XB headlights were installed. SR5 does not have L shaped DRL like Sport to Pro trims have. After XB headlights installed, the Amber DRL will function like stock Amber DRL.

You can get a SR5 model in your shop and test XB headlight in there and test the functions. If it works as what Matt says, then you should update the description on your website for people to decide to get for future truck purchase.

I have them wired how the instructions told me to wire them. I’ve gone over this before.

Here is where you instructed me to not use my stalk to use the drls, so that I don’t run them Amber. It has nothing to do with the wiring. I followed the instructions and as a result IF I switch the stalk to drl or parking lights then they turn Amber. I’m not the only one who realized this...
