from what I’ve read our stock Tacoma’s are already running a cold air intake system. The TRD box is really for more looks. But if you can score on at a really good price I don’t see why not.

Nice to see a fully truthful review.

If you considered running for an elected office I'd consider voting for you.

Sex appeal only? Nothing I'm interested in appealing to would find that appealing. So $0 worth to me.

And I do giggle at TRD anyway. 'Cause there is nothing on any street Toyota that came from that program. It's hype to lift fan boi $.

It is a straight through design for what it’s worth. It eliminates the 22.5 degree bend at the coupling. Like I said in my review performance is unchanged. Intake sound is minimal and exhaust sounds slightly more aggressive. I KNOW what I was buying. It’s my truck, my money. I just couldn’t really find anyone being up front and honest about this mod. Most ppl who bought it try to justify it with Mumbo jumbo snake oil talk. Trust me friends. It’s for looks. Just like my TRD oil cap and radiator cap.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
Ive had this for about 2 years now.
In truth- looks cool, sounds cool, and it may or may not have given a touch more throttle response (leaning towards it just sounds faster)I feel like the truck shifted smoother but that's in my head im sure (to justify the arm and leg i spent) Didnt give that much performance if any. Gas mileage feel like went up a smidgen. (could be accomplished with just a filter anyway).

For what I spent on it, i wish i hadnt. But you live and learn. I'll probably sell it and just get an AFE filter and the airflow accelerator.

hard to see any performance difference if you have automatic transmission. MT owners can go wide open throttle in any gear at any engine speed and determine if there is a difference. I definitely got more pep out of my K&N 63 series. grandma transmission won't show you anything.

Lookup the part numbers you can probably get it for half. We built out the 2nd gen version for $250 give or take by purchasing the parts separate. I only got it due to a boosted application.
