You are already doing all the work to install the HD braces you might as well reap the benefits. You will not be sorry if you decide on purchasing. Group buy has a great discount. Contact @Unchained 5150 for info.

Good so far, though I’ve only been on the highway. The heavy rear end is a little stiff, but I expect it will soften up once I add the RTT

Good luck with the Colorado. I had been a GM truck guy for many years, and brought a new 2015 GMC Canyon SLE 2WD, coming from a 2011 Chevy Silverado. Loved the look of the truck and how it rode, however, there were constant problems, some of them major. There was a well documented power steering issue where the steering would revert to manual only, often at inopportune times. I could handle the heavy steering, but my wife could not, and after numerous trips to the dealer, they finally replaced the rack and pinion system, with me responsible for the cost of the parts. My wife refused to drive the truck and called it a death trap. I also had intermittent issues with the AC, which were never resolved and the blender for the heater also seized, which had to be replaced. The head unit would also intermittently lock up, requiring a reset. I just never knew what was coming next. At about 80,000 miles the transmission started shifting very harshly, again, intermittently, and the dealer could never replicate it at the shop. It also started to burn oil as well, the dealer’s response was that it was considered “normal”. The truck was always serviced at the GMC dealer and always well maintained. As I was getting close to the 100,000 mile limit on the drivetrain warranty, I decided to get rid of it this spring and bought a Toyota Tacoma. I did like the look of the Canyon, and it certainly did ride better than the Tacoma, but with all the issues I had throughout the time I owned the Canyon, I just felt that it was time to get rid of it before something else happened. My wife drives a Lexus, and her daughter has a Corolla, both have been excellent, trouble free cars, so Toyota was high on my list. Although I only have a few thousand miles on my new TRD Off Road, it has been trouble free, and my wife feels confident and safe when driving it. I hope you have better luck, but for me, after all I went through, felt that I needed to try something different.

I really like the bed lights. Mine are really bright and I've never had them until my Tacoma.
