Hey all I'm joining up because my 2011 extended cab short bed 4x4 6 speed taco needs some love for once. I've had it for 7 or 8 years now and I really only use it to haul yard waste or as a backup/loner if my other trucks are tore apart or a friend needs something to drive for a few days.

Its 99.9% stock with 70k miles and I plan to keep it as stock as possible for reliability reasons. Only "Mods" so far are.

-265/75/16 Falken AT3 on stock wheels
-URD Short shifter (Wow the factory shifter is dreadful)

I've finally been driving it a little more since my "Race truck" has been tore apart and my daily has been waiting on parts as well. the things that really bug me about it and the reason I joined up are as follows.

-I'm 6'4" and the seat needs to go down a few inches. My knees are in the wheel and my hair touches the roof on bad hair days.

-The rear view mirror needs to go up so I can use the other half of the windshield.

-Hood struts (Redline kit on the way)

-love to find a sport hood scoop hood even though I know it doesn't do anything.

-Bed stiffeners? Theres a terrible lack of tie downs and the sliding rail dohickies all ran off when people borrowed the truck. Figured solve a common issue and gain some tie does at the same time.

-Last gripe is the clutch is pay back for Hiroshima but is there anyway to make it shift a little smoother or faster?

Kinda a long first post and full of negativity but I really do love this truck I think they are the best looking trucks on the road and its a beast off road in stock forum! 20200523_125126.jpg 20200523_125112.jpg

The mirror riser mod was one of the first things I had to do. The stock placement of the rear view is hell on us tall guys.

I did a bunch of googling before I posted and I found several threads talking about the mirror mod and seat drop brackets but never found a link to buy the parts. Do you have a link or part number I can find?

Probably needs brake flush, Transmission, front and rear differential and transfer case oil change as well.
If you drive on salted winter roads soak the frame inside and out with Fluid Film or Wool Wax or expect Frame failure due to RUST.

Never been north of Georgia so rust is thankfully not an issue although I get the letters about the frame rust recall. Few years ago I helped a budy pull his cab and bed to box his frame as well as rust bust and re paint. Pain in the butt!

I do keep a good eye on the frame rust issue I hate cancer!

Diffs could probably use a change but I like to think one day it will get factory E lockers and if it takes a whiny diff to make that happen then so be it. Plus I can honestly say it has never been in water or even mud deeper than 2-4 inches. Mostly lots of sand where I live and not salty beach sand either.

I'm also very happy with my bed stiffeners from Rago Fabrication. They make tying things down a breeze.

I had been looking at the Total Chaos stiffeners but man they are expensive. All Pro has some even cheaper I'll have to check out those Rago.

Just now realized HP tuners supports these trucks so it looks like I have some tuning to do in my spare time!

Years ago when I got it I think there were only piggyback systems and MAF calibrators out, and those don't inspire much confidence to me.

Checked the service records as I take it to the dealer for everything and in Sept 2018 at 70k miles it had the brake system flushed as well as transfer case flush and "fuel injection cleaning" which was likely a bottle of Lucas fuel cleaner. So after clutch and trans servicing it will be good for another 10 years besides the yearly oil change. It had 70,262miles in 2018 and now it has 72,387 like I said hardly ever gets driven. I try to drive it 2 or 3 times a month. 20200526_182526.jpg 20200526_182539.jpg 20200526_182959.jpg

Bad ones. They are an add on from Carmax I believe. I found the truck for sale at a Carmax and "custom black leather" was listed as an additional option. I'm not a leather fan and these never really looked to be high quality. Looks like the driver side is starting to crack.

I'd like to find a short seat mount and have these redone or find a slim after market seat like a PRP daily driver series. Just don't want to spend time fabbing custom stuff.
