Been doing a little research and RedArc, they are simple, and very well built. Out of curiosity what made you go with the RedArc over the ML-ACR??

Uhhhh... I haven't ever heard of the ML-ACR? :D Made the choice super obvious.

I'll get some photos of the setup for you at some point. In the meantime, here's my system design and mostly-accurate wiring diagram. May be helpful...

To be honest, I've been busy painting and waiting on my VO Nomad so haven't really used it. I have a Propex installed under the bed with ducting going into the bed for when I finally get the wedge. I had always planned on removing it when arriving in camp and setting it on the ground next to the quick connect for the Propex. Will most likely have a stove quick connect inside too because the only way I'll get my wife to come along is if she can fire up some coffee while still inside the warmth of the Propex-heated Nomad.

Regarding the mounting location, that is really the only place I felt comfortable putting it. I actually secured the rear tailgate panel to the frame inside for more rigidity and then used stainless nutserts into the tailgate to mount the Power Tanks propane tank. The tank is the 10 lb aluminum and full of propane the whole set up is right at 23 lbs. Folks have also commented about getting blown up where it is mounted. All the highway restrictions I could find on Propane tanks only applied to commercial vehicles. Most of the reading I did said that gas cans mounted on the back had more explosion hazard than propane. It is high enough that it would take a very tall vehicle rear-ending me to hit it. And even it if it was hit, the tank would most likely come loose from the tailgate fairly easily.

My brother actually removed his panel from the top of his camper because it was super limiting on where he could park. He wound up with a portable Renogy and a very neat quick connect in the side of his van with 30 ft of line to position the panel at the optimum place for fast charging.

After sleeping 8 nights in the Drifter, I was having some back pain from the mattress.

Stopped by Walmart and bought this 2” Mattress Topper that’s like a fitted sheet. Made a huge difference for me and no more back pain in the morning! Threw a fitted sheet over and also used these really thin alligator clips to hold the bedding tightly together.

So I know it’s been covered but not sure anyone can update on the success of their tailgate sealing methods and what they used? After doing some coldish camping (high 20s) I realized how much of a draft there is from the gaps on the upper sides of the tailgate. Plus all the dust.

Can someone who has the L-Track installed from Vagabond send me a picture of the bolts they use for mounting it to the roof?

Thank you!! Got 440" of L-Track to mount...

    Wanted to get some opinions,

I have the small rear 4ft awning for when I cook.

Wondering if the alucab shadow awning is really worth it.

I was thinking if I should just get The another arb awning that’s bigger for my side that I can turn into a room if I ever have some friends come and camp with me.

used my setup for the first time this weekend and would have to say the shadow awn is killer. Definitely worth it if you can swing the price. Being able to deploy it by yourself without any kind of help and just the coverage it provides is awesome. It also has a zip up tent option if you want to make a room.

this is all it takes, I’m sold.

im building a kitchen slide out, this requires me to be to the left of the slides.

Should I get the driver side or passenger side alucab shadow awning in order to be more protected from the sun When I cook?

I didn't really have a choice as I bought my entire setup used, but so far the driver side mounting has suited me fine.

That is the route I went. Two awnings, ARB 4X4 in back, ARB 2500X2500 driver side. Like you I was planning at some point to purchase the room in events kids decide to come along on trips.
