I have an 08 Access Cab 4x4 SR5. I've only had it for about two months, and haven't had many complaints, but a few things I dislike:

Seats are pretty uncomfortable for more than an hour of driving. Anyone know of any seat cover or something I could get for that? I also wish there was a way to adjust the height of them. I feel like my head is at the roof, and I'm only 6'1. I've seen people a lot taller than me in these things.

Arm rest on the door is way too hard. It feels like you're resting your elbow/forearm on concrete. Needs a little bit of padding.

Antenna makes a ton of noise when I drive on bumpy roads. When I first heard it, I thought there was something wrong with the truck, so I took it to the dealer, and it took them two hours to find out the problem. Didn't give me any advice on how to make it better, so I deal with it. I can turn my music up loud enough to cancel it out, mostly.

Other than that, I love it. Not having a temperature gauge kind of sucks, but I can check the temp on my phone in just a few seconds.

It seems like 90% of these issues are tedious stuff are of luxury, extra components = more things to go wrong. A lot of guys say the 1st gens have a lot less issues, well they have a lot less options too. I'm not saying there isn't stuff that could be changed but some of this is almost AMERICA AT ITS FINEST for being lazy. Its a durable mid sized truck, not a lot of options, which toyota has alway been known for. I think they focus more on quality of ride and longevity of vehicle other than "your steering wheel controls take an extra couple of seconds to change the volume because the knob on the radio is an extra 7" away ;) I don't have the controls on mine and am getting along okay.... its tough but I survive! jk, They are priced high and if they offer these options they should work, I agree. But before posting stuff on here lets think about how big of a deal it really is. You knew most of these issues when purchasing the truck, at least you didn't buy a ford! Count your blessings where they are due

I am 6'1" ... 214. I sit with my butt and back in the seat the way it is designed and still have plently of headroom.

Check to see if your nephew's booster seat is missing ...... you may be sitting on it.

oooh...just thought of another one, as i was driving home, partly because this happened and irked me a bit...

...the sun visors have that extension part that always blocks the rearview mirror when opened...so, i open it behind the mirror, (kind of a pain), an dthen when i didn't need it, i go to flip the visor back up, and the extension part, (which i always forget is out when using it), hits the rearview, and now i can't see what's behind me and i gotta fiz it as i drive.

my old vehicle had a panel that folded down from behind the stem holding teh mirror in place. made much more sense designed that way.

Dude size 13 shoes are not that big anymore. The Tacoma has simply not kept up with the supersizing of America. BTW big feet mean I have a big j*hn**n :D

I wish the seats/ ride position was a little bit higher.

Need more foot room for my redwing boots down by the pedals.

Wish this truck had brighter fog lights that could be turned on without the headlights

no gas/fuel protection from theft - I think this has been covered, you cant siphon gas from this tank (easily), it is protected by a screen.
no tailgate protection from theft - easily fixed from Chris 4x4's tailgate mod

Can't help you on the others.. But the tailgate mod is super easy.
