This was towards the end of the trip; This open-air Chevy van transported us from a parking lot to the beach where a boat took us on a snorkeling trip...

Why? The ones I saw were actually very friendly, and one of them climbed into my lap when it realized I was a food source...

Cause the ones around my house were like family pets. We used to play with the chicks all the time.

I am friends with a former high school teacher from when we lived in Northern Virginia; I chatted with her today, and I found at the sad news that another one of my beloved teachers from that school lost a battle with cancer and passed away approximately five years ago :(

This was my gym teacher, Ms. Beaver (her first name was Laura). I had her as a teacher during the 2003-2004 (9th Grade) and 2004-2005 (10th Grade) school years. I was just just gonna guess she was in her late forties or early fifties when I first started high school, and it turns out I was right; I stopped typing this to look for her obituary and found it quite easily. She was born in September 1953 and died in July 2013, just a couple months shy of her 60th birthday.

Ms. Beaver and I clicked from day one, and we grew even closer when we found out we both enjoyed the music of Meat Loaf, specifically Bat Out of Hell...

Exercise has NEVER been one of my favorite things, and by default, gym class never has been either; From day one, Ms. Beaver made gym class at least somewhat enjoyable, but this didn't make me any better at the stupid fitness tests...

In late 2003, I was not doing so good in the mile run, and Ms. Beaver made me an offer I could not refuse; Complete the run in the maximum allowed time, and I'd get a ride in her 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe LT with my choice of music, to include a trip to the fast food place of my choice. Needless to say, I completed and passed the mile run and got my ride in the Tahoe. We jammed to Meat Loaf, got an early dinner at McDonald's (she got me a Happy Meal only because she wanted the toy to give to her niece), and stopped at this place that refurbished and sold pinball machines. She then dropped me off at home after a fun afternoon, and several months later gave me and another friend a ride in the Tahoe.

Ms. Beaver knew that I was on the spectrum and did not take kindly to kids picking on me, so that was a major plus; One time, this Asian girl flipped out on me because I called her a chicken, tackled me, pinned me down, and started pulling my hair. She may have been smaller than me, but she packed a wallop, and she was really honestly hurting me! I was screaming for someone to pull her off of me, but nobody seemed to notice despite the gym being crowded. Purely out of reflex and not knowing what else to do, I flung my leg up and unintentionally got her right in the face. She immediately got up and ran off crying...

I got up, found Ms. Beaver, and told her what had happened; My classmate, who was a year older than me, immediately came over and tried to deflect blame. Ms. Beaver said, and I quote, "If you were holding me down and pulling my hair, I probably would have kicked you in the face too." End of story.

I genuinely almost started crying when I found out she'd died!

Damn that sucks. I did that one time at a window contractor. He kept dodging me after I gave him a 5k deposit. I blocked his driveway with my truck so he couldn’t pull in lol

Nice, I am sure you got his attention lol. They left my old furnace sitting in the yard after they pulled it out because they didn't want to drive all the way back to the office.

@PennSilverTaco After the new system is installed is there any yearly maintenance or service I need to do, anything I should ask the guys about?

Make sure the unit is clean, and I'd recommend getting a tuneup twice a year (once for cooling and once for heating)...
