What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I’m debating pulling the trigger on a similar setup for an AC. What springs did you go with?

 

I went with the 2885s. I had them on my last taco and loved it!

 

Sweet! Those are the ones I was thinking, since I don’t have any weight up front and I am not planning on adding any in the near future.
Now to decide: new mountain bike, or new suspension.

 

Got my final alignment done today and had my Taco Tabs (LCA cam delete tabs) installed.



Then went down to my local park to flex the new suspension a bit. New on top, old on bottom. Definitely much more articulation in the rear and a noticable amount in the front with the new coils and sway bar delete. Can't wait to get my armor and hit some trails.

 

Suspension FTW! You can’t haul a mountain bike with stock suspension, physics.

BTW, paying the extra couple bucks to have headstrong assemble the front is worth every penny.

 

Well dang, I can’t argue with physics. Also I will 100% pay to have them assemble. I messed around with a spring compressor once, and will never do it again. It felt like using it took 10 years off my life due to stress.
How hard is the install?

 

Got the ‘camper’ bug and have been doing some searching. I saw this one on local Craigslist. Seems WAY too big for Tacoma. Owner said it weighs 1200lbs. Also, ratchet straps for tie down seems pretty sketch. Thoughts?

Last time the first side took me 6 hours and the second took 45 minutes, lol. I’m hoping this time it’s about an hour each side on the front. The rear is probably about 30-40 min each side as well. It’s about as straight forward of an install as it gets. Hardest part on the front is figuring out what you have to unbolt to snake in the new coilover. It’s been a couple years but IIRC you need to pull off the sway bar and disconnect the LCA from under the brake disc.

 

Cool I’ll plan on a two day event for me then. Needed a quarantine project anyways!

The sae ones he is talking about do have a cut off line, its just not great and it still puts out way less usable light compared to the other companies

 

Buy them for a deal, sell them at a profit and buy the other brand. I've seen the output in person. Its pitiful

I agree. My dad runs the Rigid SAE pods on his 4Runner and I just ordered the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fogs. The Rigids are pretty bright, but I wanted more light so I got the SS3 Pros. Once they come in I’ll be doing a side by side comparison of the two.

 

Oil change, and new filters. Added a Fumoto valve. Rust neutralizer. Cali Raised LED bed stiffeners. Threw on the RTT for some (hopefully soon) summer excursions.

 

Does the ladder help support the tent? Oh - and I'm in Kaiserslautern, too

Did you get the F103 Fumoto or the new F133?

 

my trucki s newer, so the stock seats were ok, just junk..I went to the local upholestry shop and got some extra dense foam, 1", 2" and 4",,not much $$, cut and fit the bottom, back and made some bolsters, just sat it on the original seat and threw on a set of covers...came out pretty nice..... just an idea depending on whats left of ur seats

 

Go the extra mile and add seat warmers at the same time.
